Fast - 5.0 With Extra Motor And Misc. Parts - Tear Down Paint Job Complete on 2040-cars
Port Washington, Wisconsin, United States
AutoCheck Score...I'm not sure why this score is low. Previous owner may have had banking issues and defaulted on a loan or lien. Something of that nature. I'm not aware of any accidents either. I can say this, Title is clear and car is solid. See below. Ready to drive with some room for improvements. Great driver as is with extra parts. Body taken off for paint job in 2011 Motor has been worked before I purchased in 2013. 24X,XXX miles on odometer Only selling to help pay for school. Well maintained 91 Fox Body 5.0, 5 speed, short throw shifter, after market 4" cowl hood (matching paint). Spare 5.0 - 302 w/ 106K Extra doors/Interior Gauges and more. Spare rear end (posi?/gears? - Unknown). Brand new dust cover. The car runs exceptionally well and is in good shape. The only fall back is the gears in 3rd and 4th are starting to grind (possibly syncros)(tranny rebuilds $330 DIY/ $600) but a temporary solution has been to 'double clutch' while shifting and the sunroof is sealed shut. Since my ownership of the vehicle I have washed/waxed it WEEKLY. Comment any questions! Ill be happy to answer. |

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job
Tue, 07 Jan 2014When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.
Volvo to shake off Ford ties with new platforms, engines
Sat, 23 Feb 2013
It would seem Volvo is finally getting around to throwing all of Ford's things out of the apartment. Automotive News reports the Swedish automaker is preparing to unleash a range of new engines as well as a fresh platform designed entirely in house. The powerplants include an all-new four-cylinder engine set to bow before the end of this year before arriving in the US by 2014. Shortly thereafter, the world should get its first glimpse at the next-generation XC60, which will the company's first model to make use of the Volvo scalable platform architecture (SPA). US buyers can expect to see that machine on their roads by early 2015.
The next V70 and S80 will also use the SPA, though those models will carry V90 and S90 designations when they hit dealer floors. But that doesn't mean Volvo has completely weened itself off of Ford technology. The V40 will continue to ride on Ford bones until the model's next chassis can be co-developed between Volvo and Geely.
Next-gen Ford Cobra Jet development underway, but will it be a Mustang?
Wed, 09 Oct 2013Ford might be stepping away from the NHRA, but it isn't abandoning drag racing altogether. Hot Rod says that Ford confirmed a next-gen Cobra Jet factory drag racer is in the works, but the report also speculates that a new Cobra Jet could switch away from the Mustang nameplate.
Even though talk of a new Cobra Jet coincides with the all-new 2015 Mustang, the lack of confirmation for the dragster's platform leaves Hot Rod to guess that the car might switch to another platform - specifically a front-drive-based, unibody car like the Fusion or Taurus. We'd hate to think of a world with a NASCAR-ized dragster from Ford Racing, but it's also highly unlikely that the Mustang Cobra Jet would step away from its quarter-mile rivals like the Chevy COPO Camaro and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.
