I bought this truck out of Phoenix Arizona two winters ago and I had it delivered up here to Mn where I have kept it stored inside. This truck has very little rust on it. I have tried to take pictures of the areas with rust. The passengers floor has some rust, the corner of the doors and a small section of the box on the outside. The underside of the truck has no rust that I can see but it has a heavy undercoating. For us in the midwest this is only minimal rust and easy to repair. The old cars we have here are really, really rusty and I bought this car from Laveen Arizona(right next to phoenix) just south of Phoenix.

The truck was running but I havent tried to start it in several years but these little 6 cylinders are very durable. I have front headlight trim rings for this truck and i have the steering wheel and the steering column but I dont have the steering gear box.
This was a truck that was used in the Army as you can see in one of the pictures it has a special plaque Army related and it has the army emblem on it. Also the dog house has army numbers painted on it. Im not sure how many of these were in the army but I never heard about it before this one. The inside of the box has no rust through at all just surface rust and all the spots you see on the truck is from someone putting some bondo over the dents but they never even sanded them down and it looks like it was done 20-30 years ago.
I have a free and clear Mn title and it shows that it is a 1965 pickup truck but I dont really know how to tell what year it is so I am going to say that is right. I hear the later trucks had bigger engines in them but again I dont really know. This is called a 5 window econoline and is the most sought after. This is a very nice project truck but as of right now it doesnt run but I have a bobcat and I can help push it onto a car carrier if they need help. I see the drive shaft was removed from this truck at one time for moving it around I think I have a drive shaft for it and if so it will go with the truck.
The truck is for sale on Craigs list locally and you can also call me and talk with me about the truck if you are interested in buying it. Thanks Kevin Manley. 612-275-8722

2015 Mustang-based Saleen S302 to boast as much as 640 hp

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

The Ford Mustang is obviously a famous performance vehicle in its own right, but it often works even better as a platform for the aftermarket to upgrade. With the all-new 2015 model just now hitting the scene, the famous tuners at Saleen are getting their improvements for the new pony car ready for the world. After recently teasing it, the specs for its fresh S302 model are officially here, along with a first look at it in profile.
Of course, the biggest question on everyone's mind is how much power the company can get from the Mustang's V8. With the 2015 V8 model rated at 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet, Saleen expects to bump the Ford factory numbers slightly to 450 hp and 410 lb-ft in naturally aspirated form, or with the benefit of a supercharger, it will rocket the engine's output figures to 640 hp and 565 lb-ft. No matter which powerplant a buyer chooses, there are a wide variety of available final-drive ratios with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Available as either a coupe or convertible forms, Saleen will offer its S302 in three trim levels - White Label, Yellow Label and Black Label. The White Label is the only naturally aspirated one of the bunch, but it still benefits from upgrades like a new exhaust, limited-slip differential, improved suspension, heat extractor hood and rear wing.

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.
