Willing to take $2500 cash plus a street legal 150cc moped/scooter in GOOD RUNNING CONDITION. Must need nothing! Or $3400 cash. I have for sale a beautifully maintained red 1993 Ford Probe GT with a 5 speed manual transmission and 6 Cylinder Engine. She has 150,546 miles, but is driven daily so this will change. I am the third owner of this car. The man I bought it from owned it for 18 years and maintained it meticulously just as I have. Covered when not in use, ONLY hand washed, never run through a machine, oil changed religiously (just last week in fact), and a spotless black cloth interior. The only flaw in the interior is the driver's side door panel has material pulling and the plastic is cracked on the window controls (shown in pictures), but this does not effect how it drives or performs. Other than that the interior is like new. The paint has faded only on top due to being in the sun in California for the 18 years it was with it's second owner, but is still nice and shiny. There is clear coat peeling on the spoiler and a bit on the bumper, but nothing that makes it look bad. This is shown in the pictures. It has dual power windows with 1-touch down for both! Power steering and manual seats with a smooth manual transmission. ICE COLD A/C and hot heat, not that you will want that right now! Things I have had repaired/replaced: -Brand new tires (less than 500 miles) -Valve Cover Gaskets -Manifold Gaskets -Rear Calipers -Coolant Flush -Battery Cable Ends -Turn Signal Switch -Rear Hatch Trunk Lifts -Coolant/ Antifreeze -Heater Hose -Plugs and Wires *I HAVE ALL PAPER WORK ON REPAIRS AND PARTS in a binder that will go with the car. With all this work I have made the car a daily driver, and I use it as such. It is a fast and fun car that is easy to work on and a blast to drive. Great for a first car or somebody looking for some fun. Has a beautiful little exhaust note to it as well! Everything on this car is STOCK except for the shifter boot and shift knob. That means no custom stuff or crazy loud exhaust or anything like that, just a nice clean car. She comes with a car cover as well, which has about an 8 inch slit in it on the front, but still works great! Feel free to contact me and make a cash offer or cash+trade offer. Thanks for your time!

Ford talking unibody Ranger replacement

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Now here's some welcome news. Car and Driver reports Ford is seriously mulling a replacement for the recently deceased Ranger, but the successor to the compact pickup's throne may not look anything like what we've seen from the nameplate in the past.
While speaking at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Doug Scott, marketing manager for Ford Trucks, said there's still a market for a smaller pickup, but that buyers expect to see a larger differentiation between the smaller utility vehicles and their full size counterparts in price, capability and fuel economy.
According to Scott, that means a vehicle with a payload capacity of around 1,000 pounds paired with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and "a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption." But the biggest piece of that recipe is the price tag, and Scott says to keep the MSRP far enough away from the already cheap F-150, the answer could come in the form of a unibody design. Scott says target customers in this market don't care whether the truck has a traditional frame or not, so long as it's tough enough to do the job and has the capability they need.

2015 Ford Focus sedan shows its fresh face in New York

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

That handsome fellow you see above is the 2015 Ford Focus sedan. We liked the looks of the 2014 Focus, and the updates for 2015 only improve things to our eyes, with the adoption of the Aston Martin-inspired grille that has been permeating Ford's lineup these last few years. Sweeping, slightly bulbous headlamps join a revised, more demure lower grille opening to round out the styling updates up front. The rest of the car's look is just slightly massaged, including new taillamp clusters that look much like they did last year.
New for 2015 is the availability of Ford's 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. There's also a new SE Sport Package that adds more aggressive suspension tuning, paddle shifters (when equipped with Ford's six-speed dual-clutch automatic) and a few body kit bits and pieces. Rounding out the mechanical changes are an updated electronic steering rack that promises better feel, suspension tweaks to make the ride more comfortable and some software updates designed to make the dual-clutch gearbox better behave itself.
In addition, inside there are a few interior upgrades, as well as some added comfort and safety tech that includes available blind-spot detection and lane-keeping assist, along with other more incremental changes that all add up to a better vehicle. We suggest you check out the official press release below for all the details, but not before scrolling through our image gallery of live shots above.

NHTSA closes Ford F-Series Super Duty steering probe without recall

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation into 2008 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups, which was originally opened last year, has now ended without a recall. NHTSA was looking into steering failures on some 336,000 trucks.
The issue rested with the steering gear - NHTSA received five complaints of failures - which was redesigned in 2005. According to the report on the matter, investigators "found evidence of broken sector shaft gear teeth and piston damage consistent with incidents of single event overload."
NHTSA investigators, however, "found no evidence of fatigue or material property defects in any of the fractures. Analysis of complaint rates by vehicle build month showed no patterns indicating potential manufacturing quality issues and no difference before and after Ford introduced design changes to the input shaft and sector shaft seals in July 2007 to address potential leak concerns," according to the report, obtained by The Detroit News.
