1974 Ford Ranchero 500 Arizona One Family Owned + Phoenix Arizona No Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:1974 Mileage:46699
Location:

Once in a great while you get a chance to sell an exceptional RUST FREE Arizona Classic @ No Reserve.  We know this is risky, but also believe there are enough real buyers to make this worth it.  The story here is this, it was told to me that this Ranchero 500 was a NORTHERN ARIZONA "Supposed -Actual mile~ One owner~, or at least one family owned vehicle."  (SEE PICS AND MAKE YOUR ASSESSMENT PLEASE.)

We believe this to be true due to the uncanny originality of the vehicle, the lack of any drivers side seat wear, and having the Original Extra Vin plate and delivery tag in the vehicle.  The Gentlemans name is on it, but for privacy reasons it will be blurred.   The passenger window was being worked on and the original armrest and door skin come with the Ranchero. The items are not on the passenger door at present, but pictures of their quality is available.  WE believe the Powertrain to be a 351 Cleveland with Dual exhaust.  If it is a Windsor, its your lucky day...but I doubt it.

The Ranchero is missing part of one emblem and the dash is showing some signs of its submission to the desert summers, however the summers where she has been kept rarely reach 80 degrees!!

This makes this one a "BARN FIND ARIZONA TREASURE"!! This doesn't mean perfect, but it means great as it sits, no known leaks, runs good, etc.   The title will read box c, or unverifiable mileage.  This is due to the 5 digit odometer and exemption laws.   I believe it is actual, but I cant verify due to the title status.  Most dealers make trade in vehicles BoxC, when the vehicle is over 20 years old to avoid any liability.   I understand...

I didn't take the pictures on a fancy Golf Course this time...... you will have to imagine how gorgeous Arizona is right now, but forgive the boring background.  It is in secured storage at this time.

These have sold anywhere from $6,500 to $12,000 in this type of shape, The PRICE is in your hands as this one is SELLING TO THE LAST, and ONLY THE LAST BIDDER.

CHECK OUT THE BED!!!

NHTSA closes investigations into Ford Taurus, Hyundai Santa Fe

Wed, 03 Jul 2013

Ford and Hyundai are out from under the scrutinizing eyes of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after the government agency said it was closing investigations against both automakers over vehicle safety concerns.
Ford was being investigated for reported damaged speed control cables on Ford Taurus (shown above) and Mercury Sable models, both built between 2000 and 2003. Vehicles with the company's Duratec engines allegedly failed to allow owners to brake as expected. Owners lodged 100 complaints and were involved in five accidents, according to NHTSA records. The American automaker responded to the reports, and on June 21 of this year, said that it would inspect and repair all affected vehicles, regardless of the mileage.
Hyundai was under investigation for a reported loose fastener on the steering shaft of its 2011 Santa Fe (shown in the gallery below). After NHTSA launched its inquiry, the Korean automaker responded with its own investigation that yielded four affected vehicles. Following the inspection of 680 vehicles at its assembly plant, Hyundai said the issue was due to employee error and that no further defects have been found.

NHTSA investigating Ford Fiesta for faulty door latches

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation on the 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta because the regulator has received 61 complaints from drivers, including one claim of an injury, about the doors on the subcompacts failing to latch and sometimes even flying open while driving. NHTSA has estimated that the problem could affect as many as 205,000 vehicles.
NHTSA is still gathering further data about the problem, but looking at the complaints so far, both front and rear doors appear to be potentially involved with the alleged failures. Among the reports, there are 12 claiming that the door opened while driving. Several also indicate the "Door Ajar" warning illuminating during this problem. The one purported injury happened when someone attempted to shut the door, and it bounced back.
Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker told Autoblog via email, "We are cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation, as we always do." Scroll down to read the report from NHTSA.

The big dune jump and the damage done

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Silver Lake sand dunes see their fair share of well-built trophy trucks executing impressive jumps. Drivers build insane pieces of machinery for the express purpose of sailing through the air like mad men and women.
Mike Higgins is no stranger to the area. His heavily modified Ford trophy truck has gone flying through the sky on more than one occasion, but he recently bit off more than he could chew. After hitting a particularly lofty dune, Higgins went airborne for a ridiculous 180 feet before becoming intimately familiar with the finer points of gravity.
While Higgins nailed the jump, his landing fell short of wowing the judges. The impact very nearly broke his truck in two. Despite the mechanical mayhem, the driver walked away without a scratch, proving that occasionally miracles really do happen. You can check out the jump and the subsequent destruction below for yourself. Be warned: there's a fair bit of foul language.
