Rare Ranchero Squire ,rare Car, Hot Rod Rat Rod, El Camino on 2040-cars
Columbus, Ohio, United States
Rare Ranchero Squire in great shape. In its day never as popular as the Chevrolet El Camino, the 71 Ranchero is now starting to be discovered by collectors. The 71' is considered by many to be the high point of Ranchero body styles. The wood panels add to the vibe and put you in the club of the much sought after Ford Country Squire wagons of the past. Can't be many left in this condition . Interior looks like new with the exception of a few pinholes in the bench seat. Originally built in January 1971 and ordered with: 351-2V engine, medium green metallic paint, medium green knitted vinyl bench seat. 3.25 standard axle ratio, cruise-o-matic transmission, powers steering, am radio and towing package. Includes both keys and original owners manual. Sold at Bond Ford sales in Staunton, Illinois, this Ranchero has been serviced regularly throughout its 43 years. Never been cut up or abused, even has the original old school radio as delivered by the factory. Up close the paint is faded and the lighter wood trim would need to be redone if you wanted to make it showroom new but I think a little patina adds to this rare trucks look. All in all a rare find that gives you a truck when you need it and a good investment. I dare to say a classic car even your wife wouldn't mind! Call Tom at 614-975-6996 with any questions. Truck is located just south of Daytona Beach. Thanks for looking

Ford will probably never offer two RS models at the same time
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Autocar has some sour news for fans of go-fast Ford products. According to Roelant de Waard, Ford's president of marketing in Europe, the automaker will probably never offer more than one RS performance model for sale at the same time. That statement runs contrary earlier rumblings that suggested Ford would launch its next-generation Focus RS in 2015 and follow the hatch with a spate of other vehicles with an RS badge. But de Waard has made it clear that Ford of Europe is now focused on squarely on the next Mustang, even though there may be more RS models on the way eventually.
"What is clear is that the RS shouldn't be a series, or a car badge that we have in our portfolio all the time. It is an extreme car - something more than ST," he said.
That philosophy makes plenty of sense. We loved the old Focus RS - shown above in RS500 trim - because it was generally bonkers and plenty exclusive. Diluting either aspect is sure to end in disappointment for everyone involved.
Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup
Sat, 08 Mar 2014Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
How the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor became a reality
Wed, 01 May 2013The camouflaged Ford F-150 SVT Raptor prototype captured above blazing its way across the desert during a test run left company engineers giggling in amazement, reveals Jamal Hameedi in a new Autoweek video. Ford's global performance vehicle chief engineer, accompanied by senior exterior designer Bruce Williams, sat down with the publication to discuss the concept and development of the automaker's super off-road F-150.
Designing a high-performance pickup in 2008, right when the cost of gasoline was going through the roof, seemed insane at the time, but the team pushed forward with the innovative vehicle regardless. The interview includes plenty of Ford B-roll footage as visual candy, and the conversations include discussions about exterior design, ride comfort, anti-lock brake tuning, suspension engineering, weight reduction and why it was necessary to make the Raptor visually different than Ford's standard F-150. The model's origin story is very interesting, and you can learn more about it by watching the video below.
