1995 Ford Ranger Splash Turbocharged Race/show Truck on 2040-cars

US $6,500.00
Year:1995 Mileage:129187 Color: does have minor blemishes but minor at that
Location:

Tooele, Utah, United States

Tooele, Utah, United States

I've had it for almost 11 years and it has all the bells and whistles. It's time to go our separate ways.
It's been re done from the ground up.
The engine came out of 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe with 120K miles, the cylinder head has been redone and has a BOPORT 1.9 cam with all new hardware.
Intake manifold is a 40BOB piece and has been powdercoated along with the majority of the parts in the engine bay.
It has a 4" core front mount intercooler with 3" plumbing all powdercoated. Running 85 lbs/hr injectors with full MEGASQUIRT engine management. Has a Marc Bean full stainless center mount header with external wastegate running a one off, like new Holset HX35/40 turbo with a one off Garret housing.
It has a 4.0 Explorer heavy duty radiator with a 16" electric fan. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of other things but the list keeps going.
It has a 5.0 CANFIELD INDUSTRIES bellhousing adapter with a stage 2 5.0 clutch and pressure plate built by Exchange Auto parts in Salt Lake with a lightweight SPEC flywheel. Running an 88 Turbocoupe T5 transmission with full hydraulic slave and master. MGW short throw shifter with HURST shifter pistol grip. Rear axle is a fresh rebuilt 8.8 with limited slip and 4.56 gearing.
Has Cal-Trac traction bars and XXR 18" wheels with almost new tires. I have a pair of M/T drag radials mounted up on steel wheels that I will include if paid full amount.
The interior features full Autometer C2 instrumentation with wideband O2 sensor, pyrometer, boost gauge, oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel presure and an analog oil pressure at the turbo. Has push button start and white face gauges. Also a one off center console piece with a TV screen molded in. Professionally done.
On the backwall I have mounted the stereo and the Megasquirt control box with the relays.
All connections were professionally soldered.
Has 5% window tint and Dodge Neon SRT4 seats.
Interior is in great shape. No tears. Carpet is spotless.
The tailgate has been shaved and painted, along with one of the bedsides. The front end has all new paint and HID one piece headlights. Has a Xenon front air dam.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of the smalls details, but over the time I've owned this truck I have dumped all of my paychecks into it. Has well over 15K invested and that's being considerate.
The front end has new balljoints and crossdrilled rotors with ceramic brake pads.
The rear axle has been overhauled less than 5K miles ago.
THE BAD - no heater or windshield wipers. VERY MINOR RUST on cab corners.
Speedometer is innacurate because of the 4.56 gearing and the T5 transmission.
Has very small rust holes at cab corners, I originally bought this truck from Ohio and drove it back, when it was bone stock.
It runs great and it requires special attention. This is not a daily driver and as much as it has been modified, I don't see it becoming one.
Here's a video of the build.

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.

Auto critic calls out Corvette, Mustang and Cherokee faithful

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Most automotive purists fear change, but not without reason. Change, after all, did kill big-block V8s, along with most station wagons and manual transmissions. But change has also brought with it far more performance, safety and fuel economy - not to mention ridding the world of shag carpet interiors, bias-ply tires and those horrible motorized seatbelts of the early '90s.
By this time next year, the Chevy Corvette, Jeep Cherokee and next-generation Ford Mustang will all be on sale and will all, in some way, have angered or offended purists. To those critics, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is preemptively telling them to stop complaining - at least until they've all been driven. From the Corvette's square taillights and the Cherokee's radical nose to whatever pony car purists will harp on the 2015 Mustang for, Phelan's column points out the positives of automotive evolution and the negatives of staying the course for too long. That's fair enough, but do you think Phelan is on point, or all wet? Head on over to the Detroit Free Press to read his words, then have your say in Comments.

This woman owns the first Ford Mustang sold in the US

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

As Ford celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with the unveiling of the all-new sixth-gen design, one Chicago women can lay claim to a piece of Mustang history. According to CBS Chicago, Gail Wise was the first person in the US to buy a Mustang in 1964, and she did so two days before the car was even unveiled to the public.
Wise, then a 22-year-old teacher, went into the Chicago Ford dealership wanting to buy a convertible, and a salesperson ushered her over to car covered by a tarp. That car was a baby blue Mustang convertible, which she still owns today - along with the documentation. After sitting for almost 30 years and undergoing a full restoration, the car now looks to be in original condition. The report says that this $3,400 purchase could be worth anywhere between $100,000 and $250,000. While this worked out well for Mrs. Wise, we wouldn't recommend anyone going into a dark, back room of a dealership hoping to get a jump on the purchase of a 2015 Mustang.
