Up for auction is a 1995 Ford Ranger. XLT. 4X4. Extended cab.
This has been a good old truck, and while it isn't perfect, it would still be a good truck for someone.
Work truck, farm truck, woods truck, backup vehicle.
It would make a great first vehicle for someone.
It has ALWAYS started, run, and always gotten me anywhere I needed to go. I know it has some flaws, but it is 18 years old and does have a lot of miles on it.
It is for sale locally in Bradley County, TN, and can be seen by appointment.
I will list pros and cons and have always listed everything as honestly as I can.
I believe in good karma, lol.
Pros:
Tough, reliable, looks pretty good for its age, good torque.
Big 4.0 V6 (it's the good one, not the wimpy 3.0), no leaks that I can tell, automatic, keyless entry, power mirrors, four wheel drive (shift on the dash), power adjustable driver's seat, cruise, ice cold air, hot heat, rear pop-out seats, bed liner, tow package with receiver, nice factory alloy wheels. Kelly Blue Book lists it for $4100 in FAIR condition.
Cons:
A few dents and dings (on fenders, door, bumper) original paint is starting to fade, small trim on corner of front bumper missing, high mileage, small tear in driver's seat, carpet has a few stains, small crack on mirror on right side, will not pass Hamilton County emissions, needs tires. I may or may not fix the headliner this week. It's not hanging down but does have a several small tears in it.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
I will not ship this truck. This is an "AS IS" sale, no refunds, no returns.
Not that I expect anything to happen (I would still be driving it if I hadn't found a great deal on something newer) but with the age and mileage on the truck, it's an AS IS sale.

How Ford's light lab keeps the sun shining on the new Mustang just right [w/video]
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.
Ford showed off the lighting lab without the music and interviews three years ago when the Explorer was being prepared. You can watch it at work again in the video below, and read about it in the press release below that.
Ford Mustang GT350 seen and heard in motion for the first time
Fri, 27 Sep 2013We just recently saw our first spy shots of the next-gen hi-po Ford Mustang slated to replace the Shelby GT500, but now we're getting our first look - and listen - of prototypes captured on video. Mustang6g.com has the video (along with some different spy shots), which show that, if nothing else, SVT knows how to tune an exhaust system. The :50 mark is a good example of this, but fast-forward to around 2:00 where the driver revs the engine and really gets on the throttle hard taking off from a stop.
There's still no definitive evidence that the next-gen SVT Mustang - said to be called GT350 - will be naturally aspirated, but it sounds just as menacing as the current Shelby GT500. While the video posted below exhibits the sort of quality that is to be expected from someone driving while trying to film someone who is attempting to elude being filmed, it's still exciting to see and hear this new Mustang in motion.
Ford doubling 1.0L EcoBoost engine production
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine hasn't been around that long, but it sounds like the engine is getting to be fairly popular in the automaker's global car lineup. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford has add a second shift that will allow its German engine plant to double daily output from 500 engines to 1,000.
The increased capacity is part of a plan to sell more than 300,000 vehicles a year with this engine in Europe by 2015. Europe is currently the only market where the smallest of the EcoBoost engines is offered (including in the Focus pictured above), but US-spec Fiesta models will be getting this mill for 2014.
Three-cylinder engines are expected to continue to grow in popularity in coming years with the report indicating that global production of these engines will double by 2018 to 9.8 million units. General Motors, BMW and Mitsubishi are all expected to introduce three-cylinder engines in the near term, as well.
