thanks for looking at my sons 1983 FORD Ranger !! He mowed grass for about 3 Summers to accumulate enough $$$ to build the engine.

the engine was professionally built by a local machine-shop who builds award winning race car engines and was put together and installed by my son and his High School Automotive Technology Instructor and a master FORD ASE Mechanic of over 20 yrs.

This truck had been converted to a V-8 , lowered , rear-end narrowed and painted when we bought it. The engine was in the back and we had to install it. The motor was a roller cam and ran fine , but was 100% stock, so my son drove it that way until he saved enough money to pull it out and build it.

Truck has a clear Missouri title , needs a little TLC and some body-work (if you want to , or drive it  the way it is)

all lights, wipers, heater, etc work on this truck, it is street legal .

He recently graduated from college and has other interests, so that's why we're selling it.

Truck is located on Rolla, MO 65401 (approx 100 miles SW from St. Louis)

please e-mail or call my son Dylan with questions at (573) 368-9344

Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.
Scroll down to watch a video about a man who you probably wish could be a little worse at his job.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters

Sun, 28 Sep 2014

The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.

Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.
