2008 Ford Taurus X Sel Awd on 2040-cars

US $7,995.00
Year:2008 Mileage:111343 Color: is Titanium Green Metallic
Location:

Jamesville, New York, United States

Jamesville, New York, United States

This 2008 Ford Taurus X SEL features all-wheel-drive and the more desirable 7 – passenger seating (with full-width second-row fold-down split bench).  It is equipped with a 3.5 liter Duratech V6 engine, and a 6-speed automatic transmission.  The exterior color is Titanium Green Metallic, and the interior cloth seating is Camel (tan).  This Taurus X is equipped with traction control, air conditioning, power locks, power windows, power driver’s seat, heated mirrors, satellite radio, cd player, mp3 input, cruise control, keyless entry and more.  All options work fine.

This car has been very carefully maintained and garage kept, with regular oil changes using Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-20 at 3,000 mile intervals.  Recently, the car had new brakes installed, with new rotors and pads on all 4 wheels.  It has 4 matching Michelin HydroEdge radial tires that have been rotated regularly, with well more than 50% of the tread remaining.  The car has never been in an accident, and has never been smoked in.

This Taurus X would make an outstanding family car, or a great car for a college student heading off to campus this fall.

Snow Tires: Any purchaser who pays the listed “Buy it Now” price or more will also receive a set of 4 nearly-new Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires that are mounted on a separate set of matching Taurus X alloy wheels (see pictures).  These tires have less than one winter’s use, and I estimate that they will be good for at least 3 more winters.  The reserve price on the auction is set lower than the “Buy it Now” price, and the mounted snow tires are not included unless the purchaser pays at least the amount of the “Buy it Now” price.   Matching this all-wheel drive Taurus X with its Blizzak winter tires makes it an extremely sure-footed and safe winter car.

At present, the car has 111,343 miles on it, however, we will continue to use the car for local driving during the auction, so I expect that the mileage at the end of the auction will be slightly higher.  The car is located near Syracuse, New York, and the buyer will be responsible for picking up the car – I will not ship it.  Payment must be by certified check, and must be received within 3 days of the conclusion of the auction.

Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.

Ken Block is at it again in Gymkhana 6

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If there's one thing we'll say about Ken Block and his latest installment in the Gymkhana family, it's that it's far more structured than previous videos, but that doesn't mean it skimps on the entertainment. Block is on a purpose-built course which was touted as "The... Ultimate... Gymkhana... Grid... Course" in last week's preview. Unlike Gymkhana 5, which took placed on closed streets in San Francisco, this course seems much more compact.
Block has an entire array of challenges to tackle in his 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta ST, and none of them look particularly easy. In fact, we'd argue that Gymkhana 6's grid course requires much more precise driving that previous titles. There are Segways, Lamborghinis and massive pieces of construction equipment that all must be dealt with.
We've got the entire 6:28 of Gymkhana madness for you down below. Scroll down for the video and then hit Comments and let us know how this installment compares to previous Block works.

Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup

Sat, 08 Mar 2014

Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
