Location:

Franconia, New Hampshire, United States

Franconia, New Hampshire, United States

This is a relisting - apparently there are people out there who press the Buy it Now button and then refuse to pay or even communicate.  There will be some very negative feedback coming your way Ann  Dora who goes under the name deeann2 - watch out everyone for that one !

Anyway, this great and rare restoration project is now back and available to those who truly wish to purchase this rare convertible and make it into the car its intended to be.

This is the last of the cool Thunderbirds in 1966.  They grew into a luxo-barge in 1967.

This convertible has a unique top where it disappears into the trunk.

Note the cool back seat that wraps around the cabin.  You just don't see those features anymore !

This car doesn't run and needs a complete restoration.  It is believed that the mileage is correct and that all parts are with the car.

New Hampshire does not have titles for cars older than 25 years so it is marked as clear.

Every effort was made to accurately describe the car and its condition. I own several cars and am presently selling 4 at the same time from my collection - cars that I don't think I will ever get time to restore. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ASK ALL QUESTIONS about anything - condition, issues, anything because ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If you have any doubt, please hire someone to examine the car for you. There are services available for you to have pre-purchase inspections.

Yes, this needs a complete restoration, but the engine turns over and the hydraulic motor for the top works.

All parts seem to be there - you may have to get some trim pieces.  Definite rust around all quarters.  Surface rust on hood on trunk.  Needs a full restoration.

Don't pass up this 66 Bird - last of the unique "Jet Pilot" interior, wrap around back seat, convertible that disappears into the trunk.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.

Ford Focus refresh shots leak ahead of Geneva

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

In case you haven't been paying attention, Ford has been gradually redesigning its lineup to sport a familiar face. The Aston Martin-inspired grille shape debuted on the Fusion and was soon applied to the Fiesta. Even the front end of the new Mustang takes its cues from the same, and we're sure other models will soon be made-over to fall in line. The next on the docket? The Focus.
Set to be unveiled in little over a week at the Geneva Motor Show, the revised Focus has leaked out a tad early, revealing a mild facelift that bears that same trapezoidal grille with horizontal slats. Along with the new grille, the headlights, lower fascia and hood appear to have been reshaped. Around back there appears to be a new rear bumper and taillights, but otherwise the shape remains largely the same as the current model.
Expect the updates to be applied to all bodystyles offered around the world, including the hatchback, wagon and sedan. The engine lineup is expected to carry over largely unchanged, though the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the C-Max Energi could port over to the revised Focus. Plus Ford seems to have taken the opportunity to spruce things up in the cabin some. Check it out in the image gallery above and watch this space for the official announcement as we pack our bags for Switzerland.

This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like

Sat, 12 Oct 2013

Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.
