THIS IS A NO RESERVE LISTING.

This is my 1968 Ford Thunderbird "Fordor" sedan with 85,188 original miles.  This is what I'd term a "survivor" car, which is as close to original, stock condition as possible.  This car has not been modified or monkeyed around with- this is a beautiful, clean, original car.  This is probably one of the nicest, most-original 68 Thunderbirds you will find for sale anywhere- you're buying a piece of American automotive history.

This car has been garage-kept for the past 45 years and it is in superb original condition.

This T-bird has the following equipment and options:

  • 429cid 360HP Thunderjet V8 engine
  • automatic transmission
  • power steering and power disc brakes
  • Landau package
  • Selectaire air conditioning
  • power windows

I have a copy of the original window sticker showing the purchase price of $5617 in 1968.  I also have the original owner's manual.

This is a clean, reliable, fun-to-drive car that you can use and enjoy exactly the way it is.  This car is totally dependable and reliable, and would make a great weekend car or cruise-in conversation piece.

This car starts, runs, drives, stops and shifts beautifully.  The engine is powerful and runs smoothly, the transmission shifts perfectly, and the suspension, steering and brakes are tight and responsive.  The 360HP engine feels and sounds great.  You could fly in and drive this car home if you wanted.

The paint and body are in very good condition.  The paint looks as though it could be original- it is the correct Alaska Blue single-stage paint in great condition.  I can't say that it may not have been repainted at some point decades ago, but it appears like it could be original to my eye.  In any case the paint quality is quite good- no thin spots or oxidation.  The body is totally and completely solid in every way- this car is superbly clean and straight.  There are maybe just a handful of tiny bubbles under the paint in a few small spots- I'd say this car is 99% rust free.  The underside is clean, solid and in very nice shape.  The engine bay is spectacularly clean- you could practically eat off the 429 engine.

The vinyl Landau top is original and in great condition with no cracks or shrinkage.

The interior is original and very clean and nice.  The vinyl has held up well and the carpets look good as well.  The interior controls and buttons are in good shape as well.  The power windows are working only on the driver's side for some reason, and the original Philco radio is present but doesn't turn on.  The air conditioning and ventilation controls work great, and all of the A/C components are present but the air conditioning isn't blowing cold at the moment.  I'm sure it could be made to work.

The rear sequential turn signals work properly- these are probably the best conversation pieces on the whole car.  Nobody can believe these existed back then!  Also the vacuum-operated headlight covers work properly.

The trunk is clean, solid and in great shape.  The original spare is still mounted.

This car drives down the road spectacularly well.  It is smooth, comfortable, quiet and very powerful.  This car handles and drives like the premium-quality car it was in 1968.

This is certainly one of the nicest-condition, most original 1968 Thunderbirds you will find for sale anywhere.

You could fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive this T-bird home.  Alternatively, and with less risk, you could have the car shipped.  Please call Angels Moving Autos at 530 245 0481 for a shipping quote.

This car is kept in my climate-controlled warehouse in Willoughby, OH.

A closer look at the 2015 Ford F-150

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Despite having to share Ford's Detroit Auto Show stand with the hot new 2015 Mustang, the brand-new F-150 was arguably an even more important debut. Why? Ford moved some 700,000 examples of its F-Series truck in 2012, making it not only the best-selling pickup truck, but the top-selling vehicle in the US, by a long-shot.
The 2015 F-150 raises the bar for pickup trucks in a big way, with big-time use of aluminum. Because of this, roughly 700 pounds have been removed from the truck's overall weight, making it even more efficient than before, while still offering all of the capability that pickup owners expect. And with a host of engines under the hood, including a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, the 2015 F-150 will surely offer something for everyone.
During the Detroit Auto Show, west coast editor Michael Harley took a closer look at the new F-150, talking to some of the truck's engineers. Have a look at the full video, below.

Ford celebrates 1 millionth Mustang built at Flat Rock

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

Yesterday, the Ford Mustang turned 49 years old, and Ford didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the one millionth version of the Mustang rolling off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. Production of the Mustang at Flat Rock coincided with the fifth-generation design launching in 2004, and the one millionth car was the car shown above, a 2014 GT convertible painted in Ruby Red.
In total, Ford has sold more than 8.5 million Mustangs since the original car went on sale, but some of the key milestones over the car's nine years at Flat Rock include the Shelby GT-H, Bullitt, Boss 302 and, of course, the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500. Scroll down for a press release celebrating Flat Rock's milestone Mustang.

Ford dinged by OSHA for asbestos at Buffalo plant

Sat, 20 Jul 2013

Ford has come under fire from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for violations regarding asbestos exposure in a company metal stamping plant in Buffalo, NY. OSHA has cited Ford for eight violations in total, according to an Automotive News report, and faces fines of up to $41,800. 537 workers are employed at the stamping facility.
The violations include a pipefitter at the facility being exposed to asbestos-containing material while working on a steam line, other workers exposed to the material without respiratory protection and work areas that were not designed to limited the number of workers in contact with asbestos. Further, areas in which asbestos was present were not properly restricted, and levels of asbestos in the air were not monitored.
According to an unnamed Ford spokesperson in the AN report, the company feels that the OSHA citation is erroneous saying, "We have fully cooperated with the local OSHA officials and we don't believe the citations are warranted." Ford also maintains that it will work with the authorities to resolve the issue.
