This 1968 Fairlane is not perfect but it is a very nice weekend cruiser. I just completed working on this car. I spent two years bringing her back to life. She is a Factory AC Car with a freshly rebuilt 302 roller motor. It has a Trick Flow Stage one roller camshaft, Crane 1.7 roller rockers and GT 40 heads. Automatic was on Colum but now has a B&M floor shifter. C4 tranny with a 2000 stall converter with a custom built driveshaft attaching to a 4:11 8 inch posi traction rear end. The differential has clutches not a mini spool so she turns and drives as modern performance cars. New headliner, seat upholstery and carpet. Black interior. This car was just painted original 1968 Ford green ( it has a few small scratches /blemishes but it looks pretty darn good. Under car is VERY CLEAN. All pans, rails, torque boxes etc are original and nearly perfect! You just don't find a car that is rust free like this one very often. New chrome for front and rear bumpers and the trim is all there. Trim isn't perfect but it looks really good; the worst is the. The diff is new, motor is new, driveshaft is new, carpet is new, headliner is new, seat upholstery is new, bumpers both front and rear just triple chromed. The duel exhaust and headers are new, tires and rims are used but great shape factory correct except they have the Torino GT Emblems on them, the dash is a 9 out of 10. Also flushed fuel cell and installed new pick up tube. This was a 289 car but had a rod thru the block. I have a lot of time and money in this car.

My price is far below what's been put in it; come take her home for Christmas. Drive her anywhere but remember she is geared for local cruising. AC system is all there but I have not attempted to charge it. One of the cables that control heat/cool is frozen up. This car does have power steering and works great. Overall this is a nice car that is fun to drive around on weekends and just cruising the neighborhood. She's got a little pep to her as well probably in the ball park of high 12s in the 1/4 mile.

Ford invests $682 million in Edge-producing Canadian facility

Sun, 22 Sep 2013

Ford announced that it's investing $682 million in its Oakville assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, to make it a global manufacturing plant, which the automaker also says secures 2,800 jobs there. Including this injection of cash, Ford has invested over $2 billion in Canada in the last decade, starting with nearly $1 billion for Oakville in 2004, and over $570 million for its Essex Engine Plant in 2010.
The move to make Oakville a global manufacturer of Ford vehicles means, "If consumers suddenly shift their buying habits, we can seamlessly change our production mix without having to idle a plant," says Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas.
Ford says that the latest investment will help it meet North American demand for the Oakville-produced Edge crossover, which is on track this year to beat 2007's US sales record of 130,000 Edges. The Ford Flex and Lincoln MKX and MKT are also manufactured at the plant.

Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.

2014 Ford Transit unveiled in Chassis Cab and Cutaway versions

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

As a leader in commercial vehicles here in the US, we knew Ford wouldn't take too long to show off the chassis cab and cutaway versions of its 2014 Ford Transit van. Set to go on sale this fall, Ford already revealed the full-body version of the Transit, and now it has pulled the cover off exposed-frame models just in time to to compete against the all-new Ram Promaster.
The term "chassis cab" refers to models with a fully enclosed cabin used for box vans or rental trucks, while cutaway models leave the cabin open behind the B-pillars for a pass-through on vehicles such as Class C motorhomes or ambulances. Both will offer three wheelbase options (138, 156 and 178 inches), the choice of single or dually rear axles, and plenty of upfitter-friendly touches including a pre-wired body harness and multiple body mount locations.
The new design will also help make upfitting a little easier since the fuel filler is now built into the cab (just behind the driver's door). Those integrated fuel filler necks will serve to feed either a 3.7-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, or a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel. Transit chassis cab and cutaways will wear varying Gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on spec.
