 1969 Ford Torino GT ( Grand Touring ) Fastback - 351 W engine - C4 Auto Transmission.
Yellow (New Lime) Exterior
and Black/Dark Green Interior.
The car is all original except for new original style seat covering. PS, PB, AM radio, GT Floor mats, GT Wheels and new Michelin Tires. Everything works! Hood blinking lights, radio etc....This is one of the nicest 69 Torino GT's you will find anywhere!! The interior is almost like new and the exterior is is in very good condition as well. I purchased the car with 26,000 miles a couple of years ago from Southern Classic Cars just outside of Savannah, GA. The car runs and shifts perfect. Tight car with no rattles or squeaks. Since I have had the car, I have added a new 4 barrel Holley carb, duel exhaust system, rear shocks and master cylinder. The car has had one repaint at some point and does have some minor scratches. However the paint still buffs and shines extremely well. The car appears to have had an undercoating added as well. This is a great cruiser quality car and you will most likely have the only one there. That's been the case with me at my cruiser night car shows. The reason for selling is I just purchased another classic car. Vehicle being Sold As Is with No Implied warranty. Winning bidder to pay $500.00 deposit via Paypal within 3 days of auction close. Ford cleans up painting process with cameras

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.

Ford talking unibody Ranger replacement

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Now here's some welcome news. Car and Driver reports Ford is seriously mulling a replacement for the recently deceased Ranger, but the successor to the compact pickup's throne may not look anything like what we've seen from the nameplate in the past.
While speaking at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Doug Scott, marketing manager for Ford Trucks, said there's still a market for a smaller pickup, but that buyers expect to see a larger differentiation between the smaller utility vehicles and their full size counterparts in price, capability and fuel economy.
According to Scott, that means a vehicle with a payload capacity of around 1,000 pounds paired with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and "a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption." But the biggest piece of that recipe is the price tag, and Scott says to keep the MSRP far enough away from the already cheap F-150, the answer could come in the form of a unibody design. Scott says target customers in this market don't care whether the truck has a traditional frame or not, so long as it's tough enough to do the job and has the capability they need.

George W. Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 fizzles with $300,000 bid at Barrett-Jackson [UPDATE: w/video]

Sun, 20 Jan 2013

Despite some truly impassioned pleading from Jay Leno himself - including calling on Arizona's notoriously Republican-rich voters to beat the $600,000 level set the last time Leno sold a vehicle for this particular charity... in California - bidding for George Bush's 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck stalled at $300,000.
All proceeds will be sent to the Fisher House Foundation, so at least it's $300K going to a good cause. Feel free to check out the live image gallery above, which includes shots showing Leno's skills helming the auction, and read through the official auction description below.
*UPDATE: Video of the auction and Leno's prods to the crowd for more money can now be seen below.
