Twin Turbo 5.3l Gmc Jimmy 555hp Awd Ls1 Chevy Family Hotrod Race Turbocharged on 2040-cars

Year:1993 Mileage:1
Location:

Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, United States

Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, United States

As the title states, 1993 GMC Jimmy with a 2005 5.3L truck motor with twin turbos. Built the truck a couple years ago and had my fun with it, just have some bigger projects going on and need to cash this one out.

Motor: Mileage unknown, looked fresh when I opened it up. head studs, valve springs, 706 head castings and new ls9 cam. 80 pound seimens injectors and two walbro 255l inline fuel pumps run parallel for the E85 fuel support.

Turbos: rebuilt Holset H1C's, Headers are made from a mild steel header kit and are tig welded, 3" down pipes that merge into 4" exhaust that runs out behind the rear passenger tire, waste gates came off ebay dont really know the brand

Trans: th350, alto red clutches and kolene steels. shift kit, hardened outer intermediate race with new sprag, tsi converter.

Rear end: GM 8.5" with 308 gears gov lock and disk brakes.

Front diff: GM 308 gear set and axle from a 1993 AWD astro safari

Transfer case: AWD case from olds bravad, I just resently put this in

Other: This was pretty much a frame off restoration, the frame was completely disassembled, sand blasted then painted with industrial paint and reassembled with new prothane (urethane) bushings, all ball joints and steering components are new also, I guess I should say new two years ago, I probably have less than 2500 miles on the truck since the rebuild I am not sure of the mileage and ebay wanted a number so I just put 1, the title states that it was 106,646 on it when I bought it in 2000 . The suv also has 4 wheel disk brakes and has a hydro boost braking and power steering system, It works awesome. All the air conditioning components are there, i never charged it to know if it works, it WAS something I was going to work on as I had time. The interior was completely taken out and cleaned there is wear on the drivers seat, I just didnt get around to having it fixed, theres other small cosmetic issues just from its age, but everything is clean. Body itself has fresh paint but its NOT perfect and has some small scratches and chips, but you would have to look for them, there not too obvious. I put this project together with the intention of driving it, its not a show truck but it is a nice truck, had lots of fun with it and makes decent power . The tune was completed on a load bearing dyno by Done Rite Automotive Perfomance and made 555hp and 500lbs of torque on 13psi. I am open for international bidders however shipping is your
responsibility and the price of shipping is not included, its up to you to do all the phone calls to the transporter, i will be there for the truck to be loaded. Also if you are using paypal to pay the amount of the
final bid you will pay all fees. for anyone paying with a check the transaction will be final when the check clears. For any addition information  my name and phone number is John 920-427-9352. I usually am not around  the internet during the week for faster information feel free to call me, I'm not a mean person.

GM to unveil new SUVs at the State Fair of Texas?

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

With General Motors just having rolled out its new fullsize truck twins - the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra - for 2014, now it seems to be time to focus on its big SUVs. The Truth About Cars is reporting that the 2015 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and 2015 GMC Yukon lineup will be making their debuts later next month at the State Fair of Texas, which kicks off on September 27.
To date, we've only seen spy shots of the new Chevy and GMC SUVs (shown above in Yukon XL guise). Based on those spies both trucks seem to be taking a different styling direction than their pickup truck counterparts - just check out the Ford-looking headlight design on the next-gen Chevys.
We reached out to GM for comment and heard back simply that there is no official announcement about the new Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon. Still, the report definitely makes a solid leap of logic, as Texas is a top market for GM's fullsize SUV lineup. It also appears that GM is still planning a separate launch for the next-gen Cadillac Escalade.

GM's fullsize SUVs boost highway mileage by nearly 10 percent

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

We met the redesigned 2015 versions of the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL at the 2013 LA Auto Show. Improved gas mileage numbers have been announced to go along with the improved exteriors and interiors, with city mileage improving by seven percent and highway mileage going up by nearly ten percent; you'll now get 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 on the highway.
The only applies to models with the 5.3-liter engine, though, not the premium Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali SUVs with the 6.2-liter motor. Still, the 5.3 gets you more power than previously, with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque underfoot, on top of the improved fuel economy numbers. The 6.2-liter sticks with official mpg ratings of 15 highway, 21 city. There's a brief press release below with words straight from the horse's mouth.

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.
