This vehicle is in fair condition, 9 passenger bench seats/cloth. Rear Air Conditioning/ Heat. Michelin AT tires 31X10.50R 15 wrapped around GM Factory aluminum wheels. Factory trained diesel technician installed a heavy duty fuel filter housing and fuel filter. Vehicle has an aftermarket Blaupunkt AM/FM CD radio. Vehicle has factory tow package and after market installed auxiliary brake controller. New Front brake Rotors and Pads. New rear brake shoes. Rebuilt primary drive-shaft, new EATON G-80 Mechanical locking rear differential. Recently replaced Headliner. Vehicle has factory dual shock towers in the front. New Monroe Heavy Duty Gas-Matic shocks as well (totaling 6 new shocks) has new Monroe steering stabilizer shock. (2) Optima Gel red top batteries with side post and standard post.1 year old gel batteries. Vehicle has had a newly installed heavy duty radiator, water pump and thermostat. Fuel Injection pump was rebuilt by factory trained Diesel technicians. Vehicle is completely mechanically sound and operational. Vehicle front bench seat cover needs too be replaced, Front Dash cover needs to be replaced, vehicle carpeting may need to be replaced. Mechanically sound and reliable, but needs some cosmetic TLC. This a one family owned diesel suburban, purchased new at a local GMC Dealership. Vehicle has some minor rust areas on the body, right front passenger door has minor dent and scratch. Steering column bushings are worn and need to be replaced. Drivability of the vehicle is not obstructed by steering column issue. This vehicle is available for pick up only and is sold as-is.

GM recalling Silverado and Sierra HD diesel pickups over fuel gauge follies
Fri, 03 Jan 2014General Motors is recalling 9,733 of its heavy-duty twins over concerns with their 6.6-liter diesel engines and dual fuel tanks. The recall covers some Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups from model years 2012 and 2013, although the exact dates that the recalled trucks were built isn't specified. There's also no mention of how many models come from Chevrolet and how many are from GMC.
The problem rests with the transfer pump responsible for moving fuel from the rear tank to the front tank - it could fail, resulting in an inaccurate fuel gauge. It hardly requires explaining, but a faulty fuel gauge could leave drivers in a situation where they run out of diesel.
GM will begin notifying customers of affected vehicles, who will be asked to report to their dealers for a free replacement transfer pump.
New J.D. Power Initial Quality Study puts Porsche, GM in spotlight
Wed, 19 Jun 2013J.D. Power and Associates has released its annual Initial Quality Study, and this year, Porsche and General Motors took the spotlight. The study, which asks new car owners to report problems experienced during the first 90 days of ownership, found that overall, the industry averages 113 problems per 100 vehicles.
Porsche managed a score of just 80 problems per 100 vehicles, while GMC took the second spot on the podium with 90. Lexus filled out the top three with 94 problems per 100 vehicles, followed by Infiniti at 95 and Chevrolet at 97. The study also looks at specific models, and found the Lexus LS to enjoy the best initial quality at 59 problems per 100 vehicles.
Interestingly enough, the report found that around two-thirds of most owner problems experienced in the first 90 days are attributable to vehicle design instead of mechanical failure. GM phasing out light-duty 1500-series vans
Mon, 16 Jun 2014In the market for a fullsize van but don't need a heavy-duty model? You're in the minority, and you're also out of luck. That's because there are barely any more fullsize vans on the market with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 pounds, the threshold that separates light- and heavy-duty vans.
According to PickupTrucks.com, neither the Ford E-Series, Ram ProMaster, nor Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are available in light-duty versions. Few of the Ford Transit configurations are, either, and now General Motors is discontinuing production of the 1500-series Chevy Express and GMC Savana.
Apparently light-duty versions accounted for just 23 percent of Express sales and only 7 percent of Savanas. Add to that the fact that these 1500 versions were the only ones using the old generation of engines and suspension, and that the Wentzville plant near St. Louis, Missouri, is trying to make room for the next Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, and the fate of the light-duty GM van was sealed.
