1994 Honda Accord I got from a woman in Daly City CA. She never put it in her name and it hasn't been registered since 2008. There was never a Non-Op issued so there are some hefty back fees due. DMV told me if I fill out a Statement of Facts stating the vehicle was innoperative and parked on private property it would waive the back *penalties* (aprox $480 in penalties).

This car is borderline parts car or driver. I got it to drive as my daily transportation but due to registration issues I have decided to sell it. There is a lot of rust around the wheel wells and along the front of the hood. The hood seems to be an import replacement as there are no factory stickers inside.

The engine runs great, starts right up and sounds smooth and quiet. It is very low mileage for it's age and sticker under hood says it had new timing belt at just over 94,400+ miles back in 2006 which means only 6000 miles since the timing belt was done. I have never driven it on the street only around my property so I can't say anything about the transmission but can tell you the driveshafts are clicking pretty bad (need replaced) but are cheap at auto part stores usually under $100ea.

The interior and dash is pretty nice, the back seat had remnants of cheerios but should clean up nicely with a steam cleaning or less. The dash is in excellent condition as well, front and rear carpets are nice.Does NOT smell like smoke. Besides the rust there is a long shallow dent in right rear door. I made a 2 minute video walk around the car - to watch it go to my About "Me" Page listed above. Car is located in Boulder Creek CA and can be picked up and paid for in person. There is no smog included with this sale - selling as is with title & 2 keys.

Honda shows us 'The Challenging Spirit of Honda'... in Japanese

Sun, 29 Dec 2013

Just as Porsche has done with its lengthy Le Mans gear-up, Honda is is laying the table for its Formula One return more than a year before we'll actually see it on track. We've heard what it's 2015 engine will sound like, reminisced with the 1988 McLaren Honda MP4/4 and the 1964 Honda RA271 and spoken to the company's CEO about what F1 involvement could do for its production car engines.
The automaker has now released a video called The Challenging Spirit of Honda that traces the development of its in-house F1 program and the jump from motorcycles to the first RA270 F1 chassis in 1962, to the RA272 chassis that won the 1965 Grand Prix. The only catch: the video is in Japanese. However, you can read about the winning car in English, and the video ends with another sound check of the 2015 power unit. That is a universal language, and you'll find it being spoken below.

Honda China struggling with high-end Accord because Chinese covet German cars, too

Sun, 06 Jul 2014

It's not particularly unusual to see cheap cars in China, or those with designs stolen from foreign competitors, but increasingly the best-selling vehicles there would be very recognizable to just about any auto enthusiast. There appears to be one fact of life whether looking at car buyers in Sacramento, Stuttgart or Shanghai: People who can afford to buy premium cars often look first at the Germans.
Honda recently thought that it could challenge this perceived wisdom by including a premium Accord in the ninth-generation sedan's Chinese launch last year. The market-exclusive version was priced against the Audi A4. The venture failed, miserably.
According to Automotive News China, sales for the new Accord in China are down 37 percent through May of this year. Honda's overall sales are actually up by about 11 percent there on the strength of smaller, less profitable models. However, the company is still off its forecast 19-percent rise.

Honda demonstrates driverless valet parking system with special Fit EVs

Sat, 26 Oct 2013

There are many challenges that will need to be sorted out before full autonomous driving becomes a reality, but automakers are taking small steps toward this advancement with semi-autonomous technologies. Nissan, Toyota and Ford have already revealed various automated driving systems, and now Honda is getting into the game with an automatic valet parking system that was unveiled recently at the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) World Congress in Tokyo.
Unlike Ford's recently demonstrated self-parking Focus, which is fully operational on its own, Honda's new system requires input from the parking lot via cameras. Combining information provided by the car's rearview camera as well as cameras positioned around the parking lot, drivers are able to drop their car off at a central location, and using a touchscreen display, the car can park itself and return when the driver is ready to leave. The benefit of this is that multiple cars can be parked at the same time and no additional sensors (other than a backup camera) are needed for the car, but the downside is that it can only operate on properly equipped parking lots. According to Honda's demonstration, this system can be practical by 2020.
Honda also showed off some semi-autonomous driving and non-contact electric vehicle recharging technologies at the ITS World Congress, although information is limited and there are no demonstrations available. Scroll down to read more about Honda's latest tech, including a video demonstration of the automatic valet parking system.
