Selling a 2011 Honda CR-Z. 6 speed manual. This is the awesome top of the line EX model, with factory navigation system and factory xenon / HID headlights. This car has 17,625 miles on it. Runs and lot drives. As you can see, this car was in an accident. It was hit on the right side. The right door took most of the impact. The front right fender and right rear quarter panel did take some of the hit. The door should be replaced. Fender and quarter panel can be fixed. The passenger side curtain airbag as well as the seat airbag deployed. Other airbags are good (dashboard isn't damaged). This car does run and drive (battery needs to be jump started, can be driven up and down the block). There is a coolant leak from the seal of the water pump (common with newer Hondas). A new Honda OEM water pump will be included with the car. Car drives straight as an arrow, as none of the suspension was hit. The car has a few scratches and nicks on it, and a dent on the left side, as seen in pics. The door was plastic wrapped up after the pictures, so there's no water intrusion.
This car has a Pennsylvania salvage title, which can be registered after salvage inspection. Salvage inspection is only around $150 (in PA), and about the same price elsewhere.
I have found a used door from a donor car, as well as a used, un-deployed seat airbag. I can pass that info on to the buyer of this car. They quoted me $750 for the complete door (including window glass, motor and locking mechanism. Everything minus the mirror and interior door panel), and $150 for the seat airbag.
This is your chance to have a Honda CR-Z at a fraction of it's going price. This car, with clear title and no accident, sells for around $18,300 right now, at this year and mileage. You can have this one for thousands less, even after repairs. Thousands!
This car is sold as-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I've described this car as accurately as I can.
The car is located in central NJ, and you are free to come check it out if you're local. If you're not local, I can help arrange for shipping if need be. Buyer is responsible for shipping (usually it's something like $150 deposit, and you pay the balance of shipping when the car gets to you). If you're somewhat local, I may be able to tow it to you with a U Haul dolly if need be.
If you have any questions, or need pictures of a specific part of the car, send me a message.
Thanks for looking. Happy Holidays!!

Honda CR-Z carbon-fiber prototype
Tue, 03 Dec 2013When Honda rolled out the CR-Z a few years ago, it hoped to bridge the gap between those who would save the planet and those who would rather burn all of its resources in a glorious cloud of tire smoke. But enthusiasts recalling the CRX of 1980s vintage balked, imploring Honda to ditch the heavy battery packs and electric motors in favor of a lighter-weight, more conventional powertrain. At this point it seems less likely that Honda would do so at one end of the market than Porsche would ditch the hybrid component of its 918 Spyder at the other. But that doesn't mean Honda isn't still cooking up ways to curb the CR-Z's weight. And it had just one such idea waiting for us when we visited its Japanese R&D center at Tochigi last week.
Nestled in between the JDM hatchbacks, powertrain test mules and new technology prototypes Honda rolled out for us sat the experimental CR-Z you see here. While it may look mostly like the hybrid sport-hatch you can pick up at your local dealer (albeit blacked out), nearly all of this prototype's bodywork has been completely replaced, as have its basic underpinnings, with carbon-fiber reinforced plastic. The exotic material is usually reserved for high-end exotics, but like BMW is democratizing its use in the new i3, so too is Honda researching ways to implement the use of carbon fiber on a mass scale. This one-of-a-kind CR-Z prototype stands, for the time being, as the embodiment of that effort.

Honda demonstrates new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian safety tech [w/video]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013We're fresh from a balmy rooftop deck in downtown Detroit, where Honda held a meeting this week to discuss and demonstrate a few upcoming advanced safety features. A clear focus of the mini event was the company's new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) technology, with a suite of Vehicle-to-Motorcycle (V2M) tech a significant second course.
With spirits still high from announcing the 2014 Odyssey as the first minivan to win the Top Safety Pick+ status from IIHS - and after seeing the application of new high-strength-steel sections of the Acura MDX body structure - Honda shared the fruits of some safety tech that is still in the research phase.
Honda to compete in seven Pike's Peak classes in 2014
Mon, 28 Apr 2014The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is one of the greatest events on the international motorsports calendar. Its Unlimited class harkens back to the old days of racing, when teams built vehicles to be the fastest with whatever they had. Honda is returning to the event for 2014 for its second year as a sponsor and participant, and it's bringing some cool machines of its own.
The company is fielding seven entrants this year, which is somewhat smaller than last year. In 2013, it brought 11 factory-supported vehicles in 10 classes, including an insane Honda Odyssey with a 532-horsepower turbocharged V6 engine. There's no need to be too disappointed by the shorter list, though. Former 24 Hours of Le Mans-winner Romain Dumas is back piloting a Honda-powered Norma chassis up the hill in the Unlimited class. Dumas attempted to race the car last year, but it broke down during his run. Other competitors include an NSX (pictured above), Fit B-Spec and an S3700, which is an S2000 with a 3.7-liter V6 engine.
In its role as sponsor, Honda says it has also worked with the sanctioning body to add an AirFence safety barrier along some corners for the motorcycle and ATV riders. This year's Pikes Peak is being held on Sunday, June 29. Scroll down to read the full details about Honda's team and start getting excited for this year's running.
