 Hello,

Up for sale is a 2002 Sebring Silver Honda S2000 with 114k miles. This car is in impeccable condition, with respect to both condition and mechanical function. This car is a 2-owner (1-owner for nearly its entire life, and me starting last year). Adult owned and garage kept.

Vehicle history:
The car was purchased at an auction and does carry a salvage title. The accident was light and concentrated entirely in the rear of the car (rear bumper, taillights, trunk). The suspension and frame were undamaged. I have pictures and documentation of all the damage and repairs that were PROFESSIONALLY completed at a very respectable body shop, by a very talented body-man with OEM parts, to OEM spec. This is not your typical salvage car in which people lie and claim it was 'theft', or was repaired in someone's backyard. All info and pics and be given upon purchase.

The only reason I'm selling is because I recently purchased a new vehicle, and currently I own too many cars, this one needs to go.

Pros:
• Excellent paint
• New front brakes/rotars
• AP2 front bumper
• AP2 tail lights
• AP2 wheels
• AP2 rear bumper
• 2-owner car
• Garage kept
• Excellent engine/tranny/interior/exterior
• Oil change done 1400 miles ago with Mobile 1
• All OEM stock, never modded expect Esplier Springs for a nicer look and better handling.
• Adult owned
• NO rips or tears in the convertible top (very common problem and costs a ton of money to fix on these cars)

Cons:
• Vehicle does have salvage title from the accident, although it's been entirely repaired to OEM spec (read above) and I have pictures of the light damage
• Could use rear brake pads
• Rear bumper has a few imperfections on the driver side, hard to see until close.

Please, serious, SERIOUS inquiries only. No low-ballers, s2000's are extremely hard to find now, especially in this condition, even with a salvage title.

This auction is for a local purchase. I will entertain out of state buyers if you arrange shipping and can provide cash.

Vehicle sold as-is.

Takata airbag victim looked like she had been stabbed

Tue, 21 Oct 2014

We generally take certain principals for granted. The more water you drink, for example, the healthier you'll be. The more time you spend reading car news on Autoblog, the better informed you'll be. And the more airbags your car has, the safer you'll be. Because airbags equal safety. But that's not what some unfortunate drivers of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags are finding, and tragically finding out the hard way.
In what could be the most startling incident resulting from the airbag debacle so far, a woman named Hien Tran of Orlando, FL, was killed by what looked at first like stab wounds on her neck. It later emerged that the fatal injuries could have been inflicted by the faulty airbag on her Honda Accord. Tran bought her Honda secondhand, and may not have been aware that the airbag issue had not been addressed by its previous owner in a previous recall in 2009.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death, but it wouldn't be the only injury resulting from the malfunctioning Takata airbags. The units, employed particularly by Japanese automakers like Honda (which owns part of Takata) and Toyota, are the subject of a massive recall involving some 14 million vehicles from 11 different automakers.

Honda recalls select 2013 Accords over fuel tank neck

Fri, 19 Jul 2013

Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have announced a recall for 1,659 model-year 2013 Honda Accord vehicles. The affected Accords are Low-Emission Vehicle II rated cars manufactured between January 15 and April 5 of 2013.
The recall is pursuant to a fuel tank neck that might be out of specification, and the variance could result in the fuel pump not properly sealing with the fuel tank. As you might guess, a bad seal here could result in a gasoline leak, posing a fire risk. As of this writing, there have been no reports of fires because of this problem.
Honda will reach out to owners of affected 2013 Accords, directing dealers to replace the cars' fuel tank, nut and O-ring gasket. Expect the notifications when the recall begins in earnest on August 1. FInd the full NHTSA press release below.

180,000 new vehicles are sitting, derailed by lack of transport trains

Wed, 21 May 2014

If you're planning on buying a new car in the next month or so, you might want to pick from what's on the lot, because there could be a long wait for new vehicles from the factory. Locomotives continue to be in short supply in North America, and that's causing major delays for automakers trying to move assembled cars.
According to The Detroit News, there are about 180,000 new vehicles waiting to be transported by rail in North America at the moment. In a normal year, it would be about 69,000. The complications have been industry-wide. Toyota, General Motors, Honda and Ford all reported experiencing some delays, and Chrysler recently had hundreds of minivans sitting on the Detroit waterfront waiting to be shipped out.
The problem is twofold for automakers. First, the fracking boom in the Bakken oil field in the Plains and Canada is monopolizing many locomotives. Second, the long, harsh winter is still causing major delays in freight train travel. The bad weather forced trains to slow down and carry less weight, which caused a backup of goods to transport. The auto companies resorted to moving some vehicles by truck, which was a less efficient but necessary option.
