Madison, New Jersey, United States
I bought this car brand new from a certified Hyundai dealer, and have been the only owner/driver.
EVERY scheduled maintenance performed on time and at the original dealership where I bought it. 3 door hatchback with 6 speed manual transmission, an amazing drive! It has less than 25,000 miles, and a COMPLETELY clean title. NO accidents, NO major repairs needed. Vehicle is still under manufacturers 10 year/100,000 mile warranty! It has a clean grey interior with black accents. Shiny white exterior. Ice cold air conditioning, awesome stereo system (with built in Sirius XM radio option), built in On-star navigation/safety option, USB port for iPhone/iPod connection, Bluetooth wireless data link for hands-free phone, and much more! |

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe probed by NHTSA over axle failure
Wed, 10 Jul 2013According to Reuters, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched a preliminary evaluation of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe after receiving two complaints of broken front axles on vehicles with fewer than 5,000 miles on their odometers. Naturally, a broken axle could result in the loss of control of the vehicle, especially if it occurs at high speed. It's not immediately clear if the investigation centers on the five-seat Sport, the seven-seat model or both.
No actual recall has yet been issued, and "no safety defect has been identified," according to a statement Hyundai released to Reuters, which added, "Hyundai will, of course, take any actions necessary to ensure the safety of our customers if the information gathered during the investigation indicates that action is appropriate."
We suppose you could sum up the report this way: 2013 Santa Fe owners, stay tuned.
Average new-car fuel economy figures continue record pace
Sat, 13 Jul 2013Manufacturers are making more efficient cars and trucks; we've known that to be true for some time. Nearly every new car has some sort of trick to eke a few extra miles out of every gallon of fuel. Whether that be turbocharging, active aerodynamics or hybrid technology/electrified powertrains, the fact is that our vehicles are more efficient than ever before.
Thanks to a recent study by TrueCar, we've got fresh quantitative data to support the above statements. For the fourth month in a row, we've seen an improvement in national fleet fuel economy. We Americans are 0.7 miles per gallon more efficient than we were last month, and our cars are 1.6-mpg better than at this time last year. That said, we're still down on 2013's high, which was set back in January at 24.5 mpg.
Not only does this reflect the improved technologies in our vehicles, but it demonstrates a changing mindset among consumers, who are purchasing more efficient vehicles despite the relative stabilization of fuel prices. Every fuel-efficient model sold drives its manufacturers fleet average up.
2015 Hyundai Genesis earns IIHS TSP+ [w/video]
Wed, 07 May 2014Hyundai has just earned itself another Top Safety Pick+ award, following on the success of the Elantra way back in August 2013. The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety has certified the new, second-generation Genesis luxury sedan as a TSP+ following a successful round of crash testing.
The Genesis secured the prestigious ranking with the help of a "good" rating in the notorious small-overlap front crash test. Data from dummies showed that there was a low risk of serious injury in the 40-mile-per-hour impact.
Beside the small-overlap test result, the Genny scored a "superior" on the frontal crash test, while the moderate overlap, side, roof strength and head restraint scores were "good."
