2003 Infiniti I35 6 Speed Manual Transmission. Limited Slip on 2040-cars
Oskaloosa, Iowa, United States
Clean and clear Missouri title This was originally a standard 2003 i35 with a little over 200,000 well-maintained miles. Got it with a bad engine but since the body was good I decided to swap the engine and transmission while at it. The donor car was a 2003 Nissan Maxima (Titanium Edition, 6 speed manual with a Helical Limited Slip Differential). Everything was done meticulously without cutting corners. I have receipts for the parts I bought but I have no receipts for labor. I did all the work in my garage.Let's get straight to the point, listing the good and the bad. Forgive me as I go into a detailed description, but you can't find this thing on wikipedia. Good The car runs and drives properly. It pulls strong with no strange noises Electronics work: windows, locks, sunroof, seats Every light works like it should: headlights, foglights, turn signals. hazards. I even managed to connect the cornering lamps The interior is pretty good for a 200K mile car The exterior is also in good shape for the age. Most, if not all of the 100K mile maintenance was done to the engine as well as other "while the engine is out" stuff: - OEM Nissan Spark plugs - All ignition coils are good - Intake manifold gaskets - Exhaust gaskets - Valve cover gaskets - PCV valve - Some hoses - MAF, throttle body, intake cleaning - Oil pan half moon seals - Timing chain. Timing chain guides are in good condition and there is no rattling whatsoever - Axle seals - New KOYO radiator with lifetime warranty - Newer high pressure power steering hose - All fluids flushed: Clutch, brake, engine oil, transmission/gear oil, coolant & blinker fluid - Buffed out and paint treated the common trouble areas for this model year But it can't possibly be perfect, right? It drives, yes... but it could use an alignment/ wheel balancing The speedometer does not work. It worked on the donor car right before the project started. I have not had time to test it, but I suppose it is the speed sensor in the transmission The ABS light is on. You can hear the pump run when the car is turned on. The regular brakes work just fine though The SRS light started blinking about a week after startup. All the airbags are intact but it might have something to do with me removing the seats and turning the car on. I honestly haven't looked into this issue yet. The seatbelts work The check engine light is on and the only 2 codes point to the fuel sender unit. This should go away when the tank is filled, but I can include a spare used fuel pump unit with the sale Both bumper covers have paint imperfections There is minor surface rust on the driver side rear wheel well. I think it can be arrested and effectively stopped Miscalleneous details The interior is 2-tone tan and black. I still have the tan pieces if the buyer prefers to have a fully tan interior Has one key and one key fob I am not a salesman, just a guy who had some time on his hands. I am selling it now because I can't seem to find time for the car anymore. The car is nice, but I ride a bike in the summer and I see no point in paying insurance and registration for a car to sit in my driveway. I have other projects that I need to free up the space for. That being said, I am not trying to trick anyone. It is not licensed at the moment, so I've only made a few spirited runs around the block and let it idle extensively under load (No leaks, no overheating). I also know that I cannot make up all the money spent on parts or labor on it. I just want it gone. The car is located in zip code 52577. Buyer arranges for vehicle delivery after payment clears. If you make it here, I am open to test drives. Will add pictures, video links & more information as I remember it. |

Watch Sebastian Vettel become first driver to lap Sochi GP circuit
Sun, 31 Aug 2014
In April of last year, Sebastian Vettel and David Coulthard drove the unpaved Sochi Formula One circuit in a pair of Infiniti M sedans, getting both muddy and airborne in the process. Now with tarmac laid down and fences put up, Vettel and Coulthard have gone back to the Black Sea vacation spot for another hot lap, this time in a Q50 Hybrid and without the need for mud flaps.
Sochi has earned the blessing of F1's race director, so now the next test will be the fans. With a healthy amount of wall-and-fencing along the straights, it has shades of Valencia for the viewer. We hope it will be much more exciting than its Spanish counterpart when racing happens on October 12. You'll find more videos below covering Infiniti's visits to the Sochi Autodrom, and a press release on the latest lap.
Infiniti announces pricing for 2014 QX60 and QX70
Tue, 23 Jul 2013With the exception of the G37, customers walking into Infiniti showrooms this summer are going to see a bunch of different names pop up as the automaker switches to its new Q-for-car and QX-for-crossover/SUV naming convention for 2014. The first of these renamed models are the 2014 QX60 (which replaces the JX) starting at $41,550* and the 2014 QX70 (which replaces the FX) priced at $44,950* (*prices do not include $995 for destination), and both are on sale now.
Compared to the outgoing models, the new QX60 (seen above, click to enlarge) lineup starts $300 more than the outgoing JX models (base and AWD), while pricing for the QX70 will remain the same as the trio of 2013 FX models (FX37, FX37 AWD and FX50). What is still unclear is how much the all-new QX60 Hybrid model will cost or how much option and package pricing will change, if any. Scroll down for more info on the new QX60 and QX70 crossovers.
Infiniti Synaptiq concept 'spinal lock attachment' makes you one with your car
Fri, 14 Nov 2014The theme of this year's LA Design Challenge is "Sensing the future" and asks, "How will cars interact with us in 2029?" Infiniti has kicked off entries in the LA Auto Show's yearly visionary party with its low, wide and versatile Synaptiq concept. Less a car and more of a set of interlocking pieces, the Synaptiq is termed a "universal fuselage pod," a teardrop-shaped capsule with a liquid-crystal canopy that can be fitted to different propulsion devices: a Formula One-like chassis, a desert buggy rig and a jet airframe.
Yet it answers the challenge not by being able to fly through deserts and air, but with its human-machine interface. The driver/pilot wears a Synaptic S.U.I.T. (Symbiotic User Interface Technology) fitted with biometric sensors and synthetic muscles, and through a "spinal lock attachment," he or she is made one with the car.
You gaze upon its gewgaws in the gallery above, and read more about it and other concepts from Acura, CALTY, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Peterbilt, Qoros, Subaru and Volkswagen that will vie for the King of the Future title at next week's LA Auto Show.
