1969 JAGUAR XKE E-TYPE COUPE (not a 2+2 coupe) Listed for sale by Coventry Garage LLC is a numbers matching, 1969 JAGUAR E-TYPE or XKE COUPE with its original engine and drive train THAT IS IN BEAUTIFUL RUSTFREE CONDITION. This car just had a new (stripped to bare metal) paint job in the original Willow Green color. We are asking a very reasonable $41,000.00 for this car. This car has only 74900 miles on it and the VIN# is 1R26410.
This car has a brand new clutch and slave cylinder, oil and filter change, 5 new Bridgestone 205 X 15” tires, four new rear springs, 6 KONI shocks, new stainless steel exhaust, new rubber gaskets, new clutch bottles, new clutch hoses, new bottles and brake sending units, new brake flex hoses, radiator professionally flushed and pressure tested, new Otter switch on radiator to turn rad fans on, engine compartment detailed, engine tuned with Pertronix ignition and much more. The black leather interior is in very nice condition but is not new; the seats have been re-done in black leather as original, nice door panels, new carpets, no cracks in dash, just refinished console/arm rest that looks great and its original steering wheel in nice condition. The underside of the car is in near perfect condition with new floors and rocker panels welded in- no holes, no soft spots, very good definition on all metal surfaces- no rust issues underneath at all.
The body is in VERY nice condition- we have found no rust in the fenders, sills, doors, bonnet or trunk- NO RUST FOUND! NO EVIDENCE OF ANY ACCIDENTS EITHER. We have many more photos of the floors and trunk that we can send to you. We just had the car re-painted; our body man said that this is one of the best, most rust free British cars that he has ever worked on! He stripped the car to bare metal, primed, painted, and clear coated the car. IT LOOKS GREAT! This car is finished to a very nice driver quality standard.
Mechanically the car runs great; shifts easily, starts quickly, brakes nicely. The car only shows 74900 miles on the working odometer. The chrome is in nice condition but shows some scratches on the flat surfaces. The 5 chrome wire wheels are in nice condition but are original to the car and are not perfect. The car is missing one right rear tail light chrome clamshell finisher. The radio and its surround are missing and NOT with the car. The headliner is in nice original condition and not falling down but shows some wear. The dash has no cracks. The steering wheel has been recoated in polyurethane. The lights and gauges all work. This car has a brand new spare tire and original matching wire wheel and a car cover. No jack or tool kit. The exhaust manifolds have been JETCOATED. The VIN# is1R26410 and you can see more history and photos on the "XKE DATA" website. We included many photos of the restoration process so you can see how far we went with the 20 month restoration process. We made this car a "driver" not a Concours trailer queen. We are Concours Judges and members of the Jaguar Clubs of North America and members of our local Jaguar Club of Pittsburgh. If you like, we can give you names of local British restorers/mechanics that you can contract with to assess this Jaguar XKE for you (at your expense). If you fly into Pittsburgh, we can pick you up at the Pittsburgh International Airport. All shipping arrangements and expenses will be paid by the buyer. The car will not be shipped until all funds clear our bank. This car is for sale locally so we reserve the right to end this auction at any time. We can offer this car at such a reasonable price because we are a very small, Pennsylvania licensed, used car dealership. We specialize in foreign/exotic/British sports cars. Please phone Gary at 412-638-2715 or Dan at 412-680-1639 to arrange to see and drive this legendary British sports car. If you want to see more photos, just write me an e-mail and I can attach more detailed photos. We are located at 1505 Fifth Ave., McKeesport, PA. 15132 USA (just outside Pittsburgh, PA.) and we are open by appointment only. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING OUR CAR! Call us to make an offer! |

Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker
Sat, 02 Aug 2014
There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.
Jaguar Project 7 Concept
Mon, 26 Aug 2013The Jaguar Project 7 Concept debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just last month. But unlike most concepts, which serve only to collect fingerprints on a stage, the track-ready one-seater spent its days barreling past the hillclimb crowds with Mike Cross, chief engineer of vehicle integrity at Jaguar, beaming behind its right-hand-drive steering wheel. What's more, the powers that be at Jaguar even let yours truly drive the Project 7 during the Concurs d'Elegance festivities at Pebble Beach last week.
Built on an all-aluminum V8 F-Type chassis with modified suspension, the Project 7 (a name acknowledging Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins between 1951-1990) is best thought of as an F-Type masquerading as a D-Type. The two-door is fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 550 horsepower (no pictures as Jaguar wouldn't allow us to open the hood). An eight-speed automatic, with a torque converter, sends the power the rear wheels, allowing the single-seat roadster to crack the 60-mph benchmark in just over four seconds.
Modifications to the bodywork include a new lowered windshield, carbon-fiber aerodynamics and a rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop. The driving position has also been lowered by more than an inch, allowing the sole occupant to not only escape the airflow, but take advantage of a lower center of gravity.
Can a Jaguar XKR-S be drifted while blindfolded?
Thu, 27 Dec 2012Bring together a 550-horsepower Jaguar XKR-S and a rain-soaked skidpad, and it's almost impossible to not end up in a sideways drift... accidental or on purpose. With that in mind, the gang over at Autocar got a hold of the monstrous XKR-S for the latest installment of "Will it Drift?," only they raised the stakes a little by attempting the feat with a blindfolded driver
We've driven the XKR-S a number of times here at Autoblog (including a First Drive, Review and Quick Spin), so we weren't at all surprised to learn that blind drifting in the car is possible. But what is remarkable is the ease at which it happened. This, of course, can be credited as much to the car as to the driver, Steve Sutcliffe. Check out the impressive video for yourself, which is posted after the jump.
