1969 Jaguar X E 2+2 E Type on 2040-cars
Beavercreek, Oregon, United States
Well preserved classic car, is a dream to drive and to look at! Was garaged by previous owner and also since purchased by this owner in 1999, and is a non-smoking household. There is no rust on the vehicle, all doors, windows and hatches close properly. This is a conventional US left hand drive. Exterior looks great, has some blemishing in the paint, and the body is essentially straight. Clean shiny chrome, solid exhaust system. Excellent black leather vehicle interior with no damage. Leather is not torn or scratched. Has new radio with CD player installed. Vehicle has additional dual rear external speakers. Automatic transmission (700R4) completely rebuilt and updated. Underside of vehicle modified to allow removal of automatic transmission when update was done. Chevy Camaro 8 cylinder engine switch made for reliability and economy driving and has only about 48,000 miles on it. It's the best of both worlds, Chevy reliability and Jaguar elegance. New electric fuel pump added summer of 2013. Approximate 21 miles per gallon. Vehicle constantly maintained, runs good and has a snappy response. After market cruise control was added. All wheels tuned and balanced. Much of Lucas wiring has been removed. All lights and running gear are functional. Box of miscellaneous material will be included with purchase, such as cloth custom car cover, spare tire and original tire changing tools. File folder of maintenance history available. Engine conversion photo history included. Vehicle is sold as is, buyer is responsible for shipping charges. Vehicle is also for sale locally and we will remove this listing if a sale is negotiated through that sale venue. |

Jaguar XE spied flying over London
Mon, 08 Sep 2014We only have a few hours to wait before Jaguar finally, and fully, unveils its oft-teased XE sedan. But the Internet is no respecter of secrets, as these very last-minute spy shots make clear.
Presumably being airlifted to its spectacular debut location near Earl's Court in London, the BMW 3-Series-fighting XE was captured mid-flight, and completely undisguised.
The images are understandably a bit blurry, but they do confirm that DNA from the current Jag lineup is transitioning nicely to the new small luxury sedan. The XE shows a stance typical of the brand, with a relatively short rear overhang, and big, boldly styled wheels. The bluff front end is reminiscent of if the XF and XJ, and, as we know from earlier teasers, will wear a "growler" logo over a black grille.
Jaguar launches new classic racing series
Fri, 14 Nov 2014One-make racing series have become all the rage for customers who want to actually race their exotic sports cars (or competition-spec versions of them, anyway). Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin all offer such programs, and Porsche supports several. Now Jaguar is getting in on the action as well, but instead of turning one of its production models - we're looking at you, F-Type - into a spec racer, it's launching an historic racing series instead.
The 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will be open to cars made by the Leaping Cat marque before 1966, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type and Mk I and MkII sedans. The series, which builds on the success of the previous Jaguar E-Type Challenge, will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone and will include four races in the UK and one in Europe, with the exact schedule still to be determined.
The program was announced at the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, where Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations director John Edwards was also named chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, replacing former Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll who chaired the organization for the past five years.
Jaguar XE bares its claws in 74 images [w/video]
Wed, 01 Oct 2014The XE may prove to be the most vital new model to Jaguar's expansion. But to date we've only really seen it in top-spec, supercharged XE S form. That ends right here and now, however, as Jaguar releases details, photos and even a brief video clip showing the entire range - including those most customers are bound to buy.
Globally speaking - or at least in its home market - Jaguar will offer the XE with five different engines and in four different trim levels. The new Ingenium engine family includes two diesels and two turbocharged gasoline options along with the top-of-the-line supercharged V6 that will serve as the XE's performance flagship model, at least until a new SVR version comes along. Both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions are on offer, and overseas buyers will also be able to choose between base SE, mid-range Prestige, opulent Portfolio, dynamic R-Sport and range-topping S trim levels.
Of course not every engine is available in each trim level and with either transmission, so instead of 40 combinations we're looking at 22. Once the XE reaches American showrooms, we'll likely be looking at even fewer, as we're not expecting the manual and diesel versions to be offered Stateside. Stay tuned as well for our live impressions from the floor of the Paris Motor Show. But in the meantime you can scope out all the details and UK specifications in the press release below, along with the short video and the gallery of 74 high-resolution images above.
