1969 Jaguar E-Type Convertible

This is an excellent opportunity to own a quickly appreciating Jaguar XKE roadster in superb original condition. Selling out of an estate the owner has past away and this car is being offered well below market value.  It was described to me as his "pride and joy" driven occasionally through the country roads near his home and farm. It was always garaged in a heated building and covered when not in used. It always received whatever care and maintenance needed to keep it in top condition mechanically.  I was told it received one repaint about 10 years ago in its original regency red color as seen in the photos. It appears to be a very high quality paint job that has held up very well. I believe the trunk and engine area are still in the original paint. The paint shines like new but does show a few chips and minor blemishes consistent with a car that has been driven occasionally.  I would describe this car as a excellent driver quality. The interior was redone at the same time and still looks great. Although the carpet could benefit from a good cleaning. The seats, doors, center console and dash look almost new. The top was also replaced and still looks new. It does not have a boot cover for the top in the down position.

Mechanically it supports the type of care described, as well as the low original miles. It starts right up and sounds wonderful. It holds excellent oil pressure, in or out of gear at any temp. at idle or top RPM, does not heat up at all and everything seems to work just as it should.  It does not burn oil and has not left so much as a drip in my garage. Driving it is truly a pleasure. It shifts very smoothly up and down through all gears. It stops quickly and perfectly straight. It handles like an E-type should. Corners great and reminds you of a wonderful time when motoring in a British convertible on a sunny afternoon was a great past time. It is a rare classic which can be enjoyed in todays traffic. It has strong acceleration in all gears. No valve clatter under hard acceleration. Just the classic smooth power e-types are known for. The chrome is beautiful and shines like new. Steering wheel, guages, shift knob and dash all original and look great.

Early series I E-types have already appreciated to the point where few collectors can afford them and even if you could it's doubtful you would take one for a drive in the country without worrying constantly about your six figure investment. These series II cars are raising as well but still offer collectors a relatively affordable, better driving, alternative that will likely follow the series one cars as they continue to fetch record prices. Enzo Ferrari  said the Jaguar E-type was the most beautiful car he had ever seen. The E-type roadster is one of the most recognized collectible cars in the world. It can be enjoyed in modern traffic and is one of the most comfortable classic sports cars you will ever drive.

The time to ask questions and complete inspections is before you bid. Once you bid you have agreed to buy this car at your bid price. The reserve is very low and I have no doubt it will sell. I reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the sale if the car sells prior to the end of this listing. I require a $1,000 Non- refundable deposit within 24 hours after the auction ends. No exceptions.  The balance is due within seven days. I can continue to store the car for up to 4 weeks at no charge while you arrange shipping. If you live close to central Ohio I encourage you to come inspect this beatiful classic in oerson. If not I will endevor to accomidate third pary inspections. However; they will need to be done at my home.

Please call me with questions or to schedule an inspection at 614-352-3434

Jaguar bringing all-wheel-drive F-Type to LA Auto Show [w/video]

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Jaguar's big splash at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show was showing off the slinky F-Type Coupe; perhaps one of the loveliest car shapes on the road today. This year the company won't have a show-stopping new design to offer, but the news that all-wheel drive is coming to the F-Type range is, nevertheless, pretty spectacular.
Mixed in with news about a technical partnership between Jaguar and the Bloodhound SSC World Land Speed Record program, the British brand announced this morning that it will show the first AWD F-Type Coupe at the 2014 LA show later this month.
Jaguar tells us that the sure-footed cat, in AWD F-Type R Coupe form, will run from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds, with a limited top speed of 186 mph.

Jaguar rolls out 2014 XJ updates

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

It may be an uphill battle with Mercedes-Benz having rolled out its all-new S-Class, but in an effort to entice more customers towards its flagship sedan, Jaguar has announced a series of enhancements for the XJ.
A number of upgrades aim to make the long-wheelbase model that much more accommodating, with new airline-style rear seats that recline, massage and optimize the headroom in the back. The rear suspension has also been recalibrated for comfort, and there's a new optional Meridian sound system with a Conversation Assist feature that uses microphones in the headliner to pick up occupants' voices and pipe them through the speakers to support the art of conversation in motion.
The engine range carries over unchanged, but each engine is now mated to an eight-speed automatic with an available stop/start system which Jaguar says takes less time to restart the engine than it takes for the driver to move his or her right foot from brake to gas. Full details in the press release below.

2014 Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

We'd consider giving up vital organs for the opportunity to drive any number of vehicles on the Nürburgring: supercars, racecars, track cars, even hot hatches... but a station wagon? That might not seem like a top choice at first blush, but this is no ordinary wagon. This is the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake.
Now if that name leaves you scratching your head, there are several good reasons for that - not least of which is the unfortunate reality that, unlike so many performance-oriented crossovers and sport-utes, the Sportbrake is not offered in North America. But suppose it were, or that weren't a factor. You'd likely still be left wondering how the name Jaguar ended up on a station wagon in the first place, and how that machine wound up bearing the letters R-S, the suffix affixed only to Coventry's most hardcore performance models.
Our brief story goes back a little over two years to when Jaguar revealed the XF Sportbrake at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, giving its mid-level sedan an elongated roof and added cargo capacity. The Sportbrake may not be the first wagon to wear the Leaping Cat badge, but following the lamentable X-Type Sportwagon, it could be argued that the XF is the first authentic Jag estate.
