This auction is for a 2005 Jaguar S-Type R Supercharged, Stage I, 410HP, Quartz.  This car is absolutely phenomenal!  This car is in excellent condition. The body is absolutely stunning with the gorgeous quartz color.  This R is mechanically perfect.  Always meticulously maintained, never driven hard.  This car is a Florida vehicle so it has never seen snow.  This car has a perfect carfax, there has been no problems with the vehicle whatsoever.  It was babied and well taken care of.  It has all the jaguar amenities like touchscreen navigation and control panels, 4.2 L Supercharged engine stage I, rain sensing windshield wipers, self leveling xenon headlights, Alpine premium sound, moonroof, heated memory seats and the list goes on and on.  The car has current R badges that are OEM jaguar R emblems from the current years 2010+.  This car is not only fantastic on the outside, the engine and transmission are out of this world.

This cat roars a 410 HP with a lovely eaton supercharger with ram air.  Engine idles perfect, always starts up on a dime.  Always Mobil 1 oil, 93 octane.  Just had the transmission serviced with a new pan, filter and sleeve and all new ZF fluid, that should be done around this mileage, it was serviced at Jaguar dealer in Albany, NY.  Transmission is a ZF 6HP and is super responsive.  There is honestly nothing wrong with the vehicle everything works as it should.  This car has staggered original S-type R wheels at 275 R 18 in the rear and 255 R 18 in the front.  Brakes are Brembo brakes which are awesome and are only about 3000 miles old.  The front tires are brand new and the rear tires are about 70%.  Slight road rash on original wheels as seen in pictures.  This is the nicest car I have ever owned.  Compliments everyday on how beautiful it is.  This car is STUNNING.  And not only the luxury you get the R power plus Stage I which makes this vehicle EXTREMELY FAST.  This vehicle will do 0-60 in 5.0 seconds flat.  Move over BMW because this is the ultimate driving machine!

Note*- Seller has the right to end auction early, the vehicle is for sale locally as well.

Lightweight E-Type to show historic side of Jaguar Special Operations in Monterey

Mon, 11 Aug 2014

Jaguar has made a lot of great vehicles over the years, but as far as historians are concerned, it still very much lives in the shadow of the original E-Type, small as it was. In its image, Jaguar has made two generations of XK and the new F-Type, but what we have here is the most faithful continuation of the E-Type heritage yet.
Alongside the Range Rover Sport SVR and the F-Type Project 7 (making its US debut), Jaguar Land Rover and its new Special Operations division will roll into Pebble Beach this year with the continuation Lightweight E-Type. Of the 72,500 E-Types which Jaguar built between 1961 and 1975, only a dozen were Lightweight versions, and they remain the most coveted E-Types of all. It originally planned on building 18 examples, though, and five decades later, it's now committed to completing that original production run in faithful detail.
The Lightweight E-Type was based on the standard roadster and was homologated as such, just with some key upgrades to make it lighter and faster. The biggest change, of course, was the lightweight aluminum bodywork that cut 205 pounds off the curb weight. To replicate it, Jaguar took the last example (the only one made in 1964 after the original eleven were made in '63), scanned half its body surface, mirrored it to ensure symmetry and set about reproducing it with the same standard of materials available in the Sixties (and resisting the urge to go with more modern grades of aluminum). 75 percent of the 230 components are made in-house, with the largest stampings outsourced and built on machinery built to Jaguar's specifications off-site.

Ian Callum, Brian Johnson and Lord March pick 10 top Jaguars

Thu, 11 Sep 2014

An automaker with as rich a heritage as Jaguar is bound to create a few experts along the way... and some divergent opinions, too. So on the eve of the debut of the new XE, Jaguar brought together three experts to whittle down the long list of classic Leaping Cats to just ten.
For this gargantuan task, it brought in Ian Callum (who, as the company's chief designer, knows a thing or two about Jaguars), Lord Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox (the Earl of March and founder of the Goodwood Revival) and Brian Johnson - who may be better known as the frontman of AC/DC, but also a classic car enthusiast, collector and racer in his own right.
So what did the designer, the nobleman and the celebrity choose? The SS100, XK120 (namely number NUB 120), the C-Type that competed at the 1953 Mille Miglia, the D-Type that won at Reims, the Mk II sedan, the E-Type that served as the Geneva show car, the one and only XJ13, company founder Sir William Lyons' personal XJ6 S1, the TWR XJS touring car and the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9.

2013 Jaguar XJ AWD

Tue, 18 Dec 2012

Even though this year's winter has gotten off to an abnormally slow start for most of North America, Jaguar has shown the world it means business by launching its all-new Instinctive All Wheel Drive system in Montreal, Canada. Designed primarily for consumers in the Northern US and Canada, Jaguar put us on the same snowy, slushy and icy roads that many of its buyers will have to deal with. Rather than making declawed versions of the XJ and XF, Jag says this system enhances the performance abilities of its sedans when desired while still making them as fun to drive as their rear-wheel-drive counterparts. We had a chance to test out both the XF AWD and XJ AWD, but we spent most of our time behind the wheel of the flagship XJ, driving it on the open roads as well as a few closed courses.
Considering the lengthy and convoluted history of the Jaguar brand - including a stint as a member of Ford's defunct Premier Automotive Group alongside Volvo and Aston Martin - it is rather surprising that the automaker is just now getting around to introducing an all-wheel-drive system intended for widespread use, but the new Instinctive AWD will finally allow the XF, XJ and other future products to better compete against the likes of Mercedes-Benz 4Matic, BMW xDrive and Audi Quattro. In the XJ, Jaguar expects the AWD models to account for around 40 percent of the product mix nationwide and a little bit more (50 percent) for the XF, but in the northern states, it expects around 80 percent of XF sales to be AWD variants.
Instinctive AWD is rear-biased and operates as full rear-wheel drive in good weather, but when the road conditions turn slick, the system can split engine power 50:50 between front and rear axles using a center transfer case.
