The Last Of The True Jauguars on 2040-cars
Lewiston, New York, United States
This is the last of the true Jaguars. This 1998 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas is fully
loaded and ready to go. It has all new
tires, new breaks on the front, new balancing arms and bushings. With a new paint job and no noticeable
dents or scratches this South Floridian automobile is definitely a head turner
only 66,200 miles and no rust. The interior is in great condition with
power everything that Jaguar has to offer; including moon roof, power seats and
doors. This Jaguar has rosewood dash, leather
seating and a six cd changer. As the
second owner and a fan of XJ8's I have done everything right to keep this a
classic. The front Hartman Carmon speaker needs replacing. The cup
holder in between the front seats stays open and there is a rip in the fabric
of the magazine holder in the back seat driver side door. This is going to be the classic car that everyone will envy. For any questions or for more pictures please call or text John

Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee season 2 opens with Sarah Silverman and Jag E-Type
Sat, 15 Jun 2013Season Two of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee kicked this week in style. How much more style is there to be had than in a 1969 Jaguar XKE, after all? This time around, Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman spend some time driving around in the "slinky, sexy" Jag, talking comedy and then grabbing breakfast.
In addition to the kickoff of the show's second season, this episode also represents the start of a 24-episode sponsorship with Acura. The original deal promised short ads at the beginning and end of each episode, but this time around, Seinfeld "stumbles upon" a 2014 Acura RLX, which is obviously - and admittedly - the work of product integration. Scroll down to watch Seinfeld and Silverman exchange banter with the Jag's beauty as a happy backdrop.
Seven-figure cars highlight day one of RM's Monterey auction
Sat, 17 Aug 2013RM Auctions is one of several houses holding auctions during the Monterey weekend, and Friday night's festivities got quite pricey. Seven-figure vehicles were not at all uncommon during the first day of the two-day event, with the 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider, seen above, crossing the block for $9,075,000.
Other big earners included a pair of rare Ferraris, a 1950 166 MM Barchetta and a 1955 750 Monza Spider, which took $3,080,000 and $4,070,000, respectively. Outside of the red Italians, a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special captured $7,480,000 while a stunning, color-appropriate 1955 Jaguar D-Type took $3,850,000. We've got images of these vehicles, and a few other stunning examples of last night's auction, in the gallery above.
Thought it seems impossible, tonight's auction is expected to see even more high-dollar action. The winner of the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours, a 1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S Torpedo Roadster is expected to command over $10 million. Also crossing the block will be a car we reported on a few weeks back - a supremely rare 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder. One of only 10 in the world, it's expected to take anywhere from $14 to $17 million when it hits the stage tonight.
David Brown Automotive launches old-is-new-again Speedback [w/video]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Back in January, we reported on a new British coachbuilder called David Brown Automotive. In February, the startup released the first details and images of its inaugural project, and now it has revealed the finished product.
It's called Speedback, and it's based on the Jaguar XKR. But while it's built on a modern chassis (relatively, anyway - the XK arrived in 2006 and is soon to be discontinued), it's been rebodied to look like a classic British GT. That means that, while it may look like a classic Aston Martin, it's got a thoroughly modern 5.0-liter supercharged V8 under the hood with over 500 horsepower on tap.
Otherwise, little in the way of details have been disclosed - including what you can bet will be an astronomic price that tends to come with these sorts of coachbuilt customs. But the important parts are what you can see, and that means the finest British craftsmanship inside and out. Whether you like the particular style or not, of course, is entirely a matter of taste.
