2000 Jaguar XJR. This is a well maintained car and is very powerful and smooth driving. It's a supercharged 4.0 liter V8 with 370 horse power. Clean inside and out. Alpine stereo system with 5 disc CD changer. Cold A/C and all accessories function properly. The clearcoat is deterioriating on the roof and trunk lid. There is a small dent on the rt fender by the headlight. There is a small spot (about 1" long) on the front pass seat where the stiching has come loose. An easy repair. (restitching) (see pictures) The tires are Michelin and are excellent. The car has run perfectly until just recently. I had a check engine light with code P0420. This means bank one catalyst below threshold. I replaced the O2 sensors on the pass side and the code cleared and has not come back in several weeks of driving. Now it seems to be starved for fuel when accellerating hard. In nornal driving it's fine but it looses power on hard accelleration. I replaced the fuel filter and it didn't help. This is an extra car and I don't have any interest is working on it further. I've decided to sell it at a reduced price and let the new owner work out the issue. Many pictures attached and I can take more if requested. I believe it could be driven anywhere. Just don't go racing until the accelletation issue is worked out.

Jaguar buys world's largest collection of British cars
Mon, 28 Jul 2014Whether you're looking at Bertone going bankrupt or Spyker facing (and subsequently resolving) a large tax bill, it's saddening to see an automaker having to sell off its factory collection. That's why we're glad to report that there are still some acquiring historic vehicles from their pasts. Like Jaguar, which has just bought the largest private collection of classic British cars in the world.
The collection of 543 cars was painstakingly assembled by one James Hull, a British dentist with some 50 dental clinics to his name across the UK and who was keen to find the right buyer to take possession of his life's work and preserve it for years to come.
Of those 543 cars, the majority are of British origin, including over 130 Jaguars. The collection includes seven XK120s, several C- and D-Types, a rare XKSS, eight E-Types, thirty Mark-series Jaguar sedans, nineteen XJS coupes and convertibles, some twenty XJ sedans as well as some pre-war SS models and Swallow sidecars and coachbuilt specials from the company's early days. Among the many noteworthy examples are a rare SS100, an alloy-bodied XK120 and an MK X owned by company founder Sir William Lyons himself, as well as Winston Churchill's Austin, Elton John's Bentley, and racing driver and motorcycle rider Mike Hailwood's E-Type.
Tata to get Jaguar and Land Rover tech, platforms too?
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Since buying Jaguar Land Rover, Indian automaker Tata has generally left its luxury arm's platforms and technology alone. However, those days might be gone. The two of them are gradually growing closer with coordinated development and rumors of shared platforms. And it looks like all of that work and money is finally going to pay off with an actual vehicle in the near future.
According to Australian website Drive, Tata wants to make its cars more attractive to buyers outside of India, and to do that the company knows it must improve quality. The Indian company is being careful, though, because it doesn't want to dilute the Jaguar or Land Rover brands with cheap models. "You're going to see in the future a lot of sharing of technologies and platforms over time, but you won't see a JLR with a Tata badge on it," said Darren Bowler, managing director of Tata's Australian distributor, to Drive.
According to Bowler, these future vehicles are already on the way. Tata and JLR have a global platform in the works for 2017 that both companies could use for cars or crossovers. He also hinted that Jaguar's new Ingenium engines could be shared among the brands in the future, too.
2014 Jaguar XJR unleashed just ahead of New York show [w/video]
Tue, 26 Mar 2013Just a week after teasing us with the first image of the car, and mere hours before revealing it to the public at the New York Auto Show, Jaguar has pulled the wraps off of its 2014 XJR super sedan.
The British automaker has confirmed that the XJR will be kicking out a full 550-horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque from its supercharged 5.0-liter V8, affording the sedan a 0-60 mile per hour sprint of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 174 miles per hour. A ZF eight-speed automatic transmission will still allow for respectable fuel economy, as Jag estimates ratings of 15 miles per gallon city and 23 highway.
Newly tuned dampers and stiffer spring rates, along with an electronically controlled differential should ensure that the massive power of the engine isn't wasted in transition to the road. Jaguar has also tweaked steering software and hydraulics, with the goal of increased road feel, response and overall feedback. 20-inch signature wheels carry wide Pirelli rubber (265-section up front, 295 in back) to keep the XJR planted.
