Up for auction we have a 2004 Jaguar XJR Sedan 4.2L Super changed V8. If you've looked at the pictures you can tell the car is in pretty nice shape for it's age and mileage but it does have some issues that need to be addressed (the low reserve reflects the need to address these issues) and I will lead with those:
Needs addressed: Check engine, ABS, Park Brake, Cat Fault, Low Brake Fluid light(s) illuminated Windshield (has crack) Rear Bumper Side Marker (PS has crack) Paint faded in a couple spots (Detail should take care of it) The check engine light and the other lights were diagnosed by a Jaguar service tech (along with the local Jaguar dealer) and determined to be caused by a faulty YAW sensor. Im not too good with cars but what was explained too me is that the reason the other lights are illuminated (ABS, Cat Fault, Air Suspension, Low Brake Fluid ETC) is because they all work in conjunction with the YAW sensor. Replacing the sensor and programing (Dealer quoted $700.00 and independent repair shop quoted $450.00) and reprograming of the sensor should fix the light and the other codes in the car I honestly just don't have the money to foot the bill for the repairs right now which is the reason I haven't fixed it. The car runs and drives just fine as-is but I cannot get it smoged because it passed the tailpipe test but the check engine light makes it fail automatically. Other than the few items listed above the car is in great shape and even with the lights on the dash runs and drives very well. Actually other than the lights being on I haven't noticed any difference in the drivability of the car whatsoever. It drives the same as if the lights were not on and as I mentioned before I am not really mechanically inclined in terms of European cars but I would say that it doesn't drive any different at all. The Good: Overall the car looks and runs and drives great (even with the lights illuminated) Clean title The car has awesome power and performance The interior is nice and clean and the leather seats are nice and comfy Low miles for a car that is a 2004 Very comfortable car to take on longer drives In a nutshell this car has great power and is really comfortable to drive down the road or on long trips. If it wasn't for my current financial situation I wouldn't sell but I need the $ for more important things and this is a luxury and not a necessity at this time which is why it has to go. The reserve on this car is low because of the issues and I am sure that someone who runs across this listing who may be mechanically inclined could very well fix this and get a great deal on a great car. Look at my feedback and eBay history before bidding. I have been on here quite awhile and always do my best to list my items accurately and honestly and my feedback shows this. I just want to be very clear that this car does need some work in order to pass smog (which it cannot as of now because of the check engine light) and seeing is how it is almost 11 years old it is not show room new but no car (save for show cars) are show room new after 11 years. I am more than willing to answer questions on this listing to try and make prospective buyers feel comfortable in bidding for the vehicle since I know that there will be questions. If you have any please message me and I will respond within 24 hours. |

2016 Jaguar XF mule spied in Germany
Wed, 30 Oct 2013From our best guess, the Jaguar test mule shown in these spy shots could very well be our first glimpse at the next-generation Jaguar XF, due out around the 2016 model year. The current XF has been around for five years already (launched in 2008), and this mule is likely testing powertrain or chassis components for a new version of the midsize Jaguar sedan.
With what seems to be a stretched wheelbase and wider track, this is almost certainly not a mule for the 3 Series-fighting Jaguar XS. That being said, though, there is also the outside chance that this could be a mule for other future Jaguar Land Rover products including a production version of the Jaguar C-X17 crossover or the Jaguar-based Range Rover Grand Evoque. Only time will tell what these images truly foretell, but if nothing else, it proves that Jaguar is definitely staying busy these days.
Jaguar's Callum refutes two XJ bodystyle rumor
Wed, 01 May 2013Not long ago, we relayed word from Edmunds that Jaguar was planning to split its next-generation XJ sedan into two bodystyles - one model that continued the ambitious design approach fostered with the current X351-based model, and another, more upright model to better appeal to China's conservative design sensibilities.
We expressed some cynicism in the idea, noting that such a strategy "might catch more profits for the marque, but it might also represent a setback to design head Ian Callum's vision for a thoroughly modern Jaguar portfolio." Callum has been quite insistent in his belief that Jag needs to be a forward-thinking brand in terms of design, and the two-model strategy seemed to conflict with that idea. We tried to get some comment from Callum at that time, but were unable to reach him.
As it turns out, our cynicism was well-placed. Autocar says that while the next XJ will continue to have two wheelbases, Callum has denied the two-model talk, saying flatly: "I can't see us doing two bodystyles. The cost would be enormous and the message inconsistent. You have to believe in what you produce and to do two bodystyles would undermine that."
European automakers gear up for Brazilian production
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Brazil is the place to be, apparently. Toyota has been investing in the South American country, as has BMW, which announced a $261 million investment in October 2012, on the heels of an Audi factory announcement in San José Chiapa. The high-end immigration is only set to continue, as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar-Land Rover have both announced plans to set up manufacturing operations there.
Mercedes is the big news here, as its new facility will see the German manufacturer invest 170-million euros for production of its next-generation C-Class and upcoming GLA-Class. "Brazil is an important future market. With our local production we accept the challenge and take on the competition," noted Andreas Renschler, Management Board member for Production and Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. Production is expected to begin by 2016.
Jaguar-Land Rover, meanwhile, isn't so concrete in its plans. The news of its investment in South America comes from a job posting for a plant quality manager in Brazil that was picked up by the UK's AutoCar. "Portuguese language skills will be definite advantage" for interested candidates, according to the job listing. The want ad follows on the heels of remarks by Jaguar Land Rover's Dr. Ralph Speth, who said there are "very intensive discussions" with Brazil's government. Unlike Mercedes, there's no mention of which vehicles will be produced in South America, although AutoCar thinks the Freelander, sold in the US as the LR2, is a leading contender.
