1989 Jaguar Xjs V12 Convertible Shamokin Pa 17866 $4500 on 2040-cars
Shamokin, Pennsylvania, United States
1989 Jaguar XJS V12 convertible. Blue with blue leather. 62,000 miles. I bought this car with the intention of keeping it forever, but, here it is. Originally owned by an insurance company in Albany New York, sold to an attorney in Albany, then sold to an attorney that lives near me. The prior owner let it sit for 4 years, I bought it, it wouldn't start. I got it going, NICE, it runs smooth, but you can't drive it around because of the power steering leak, and, the brakes. It does drive creamy smooth, you need to feel that, a V12 is incredible. Well, here's a list of good and bad.
GOOD VERY early factory convertible, build date June 1988 Brand new oil and filter, 10.5 quarts New distributor New pick up coil in distributor New rotor Included but not installed, new front brake pads A Convertible!\ Leather Wood 62,000 miles Convertible top is perfect Body is shiny, no rust, hood is a bit dull Rear of body and trunk vern nice as far as rust goes It's now an ANTIQUE BAD High pressure power steering hose leaking and needs replaced Brake pads needed on front, ALL 4 CALIPERS MAY BE FROZEN, driving the car may free them up. It still moves forward in D with no gas pedal Flooorboards are RUSTED THROUGH. There is a hole by the driver's and passenger's feet. Driver's side is worse Wires were chewed by mice. Still to be fixed... alternator needs wire hooked up to D+ terminal, Coolant sensor needs connected. Cruise control was brittle and broke off. There are loose wire on both sides of the trunk. One side may be a home security system, the other factory towing hook up. There may be other wires to attend to, I don't know Top is leaking hydraulic fluid and doesn't go down, I didn't look at it yet, there is a manual bypass switch. Console wood is very bad, dash wood is OK Hood and trunk struts need replaced Leather is worn, but, I have seen much worse The biggest problem is the power steering hose, it leaks right out. I am working on that now, but selling the car will eliminate that problem...for me. There may be other problems, it is a 25 year old Jaguar, I am being brutally honest, I would prefer you looked the car over with me. Cash only, please, that's what I paid, no checks, no Money Orders, no anything, even if you become my best buddy. Cash only, PLEASE. Since this is PA, we must also go to a notary to sign the title. $4500, or make offer. Please call 570 898 1992 |

Jaguar to expand Jaguar XKR-S GT production run?
Wed, 10 Apr 2013According to a report in Autocar, demand for the Jaguar XKR-S GT is such that the English company could nearly double production from 30 to 50 cars. Such inflation can often incense those have already put deposits down, worried that they've both been lied to about the potentially diminished values of their cars, but Jaguar has made the announcement barely a day after the XKR-S GT was revealed and 50 still isn't that many vehicles.
Nothing in the Autocar report indicates the additional examples will not come to America, making the 500-horsepower superfast coupe a treat we can still call all our own. Jaguar didn't add horsepower but instead honed other aspects of the car to produce a GT that can lap the 'Ring nearly as quickly as a Ferrari 458 Italia, and the world should be the beneficiary, the company's brand director saying, "The real beauty of this project has been that it has extended our understanding of the elements involved in making a car go so fast, and that will feed back into all our road car programs." Sounds good to us.
Jaguar's first-ever Super Bowl ad to feature F-Type Coupe
Sun, 10 Nov 2013Patrons of this year's Los Angeles Auto Show will be able to get their first glimpse at the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe, but the new hardtop sports car will be shown off to an even greater audience in early February. No, we aren't talking about the Chicago Auto Show - we're referring to the Super Bowl. Jaguar will debut its first-ever Super Bowl ad during the second half of the big game on February 2, 2014, and the sleek new F-Type Coupe will be the star.
According to Jaguar, the ad campaign will pose the question, "Have you ever noticed how in Hollywood movies, all the villains are played by Brits?" And for all you social media mavens out there, Jaguar will launch a specific hashtag to go with this marketing: #GoodToBeBad.
British director Tom Hooper is responsible for the ad, which is being filmed in London. Americans will get their first glimpse at the campaign this weekend in the first spot, called Disruptor, but the big F-Type Coupe spot will not air until Super Bowl XLVIII in February.
Jaguar to offer high-performance SVR models like Land Rover?
Tue, 01 Jul 2014At the Goodwood Festival of Speed this past weekend, Land Rover previewed its upcoming performance version of the Range Rover Sport. Only instead of wearing the R-S badge that adorns the most hardcore of Jaguar models, the performance SUV from JLR's Special Operations unit introduced the letters SVR. And now, it seems that badge is here to stay.
Following the Range Rover Sport SVR, a new report from Motor Authority now says that Jaguar Land Rover will use those letters to distinguish the top-of-the-line performance models from both marques moving forward. As such, we might expect SVR models of the upcoming Jaguar XE compact sedan and Land Rover Discovery Sport, as well as potential new performance models based on the new F-Type and next-generation XF.
If accurate, the move would seem to separate Jaguar in particular from the R-S badge that has adorned performance models like the XFR-S and XKR-S. Both Audi and Porsche use the letters RS to distinguish its most hardcore models as well (e.g. Audi RS7 Sportback and Porsche 911 GT3 RS). Whether the similarity was a factor in shifting to the SVR moniker, we don't know, but either way, we welcome the arrival of a new generation of Jaguar and Land Rover performance models - especially if they pack the 575-horsepower version of the company's ubiquitous 5.0-liter supercharged V8. Not incidentally, that delicious powerplant gained a couple of new engine bays to call home at Goodwood as well - it's not just found in the forthcoming Range Rover Sport SVR, it's found a home in the F-Type Project 7, too.
