1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster / convertible replica. It was built in 2007 by a company called
Antique and Collectibles Autos Inc. Since being built it has had a lot of custom work done including suspension,
exhaust, engine, transmission, interior, stereo, wheels and under hood chrome. There were only 6,400 real XK120's
built between 1948-1954. One in this condition would of course be worth over $200,000. By the way this has been a
dry weather California car since new.

There were only a few companies that offered these kits in the 80's and 90's. Antiques and collectibles of New York
made the highest quality and closest resemblance of the real deal. They stopped offering the XK120 kit in 2007 but
still offer many other kit cars to this day(this happens to be the last 1952 XK120 they ever made). The Antique and
Collectibles kits are the most sought after, have the highest resale and are becoming very hard to find. This is
the only one I have actually ever seen that is what you would call a resto mod.

The cars body is made of hand laid fiberglass coated with British racing green gel coat which is much more durable
than automotive paint(you use boat wax to polish it). These were made to use a Mustang 11 as a donor for the
engine, drive train, electrical and suspension. That wasn't the case with this one. The suspension, rear brakes,
steering, wiring harness and rear end are all Ford. The engine, transmission, front brakes and custom modified
drive shaft are all Chevy.

The suspension/drive train didn't come from a used donor car like you will find with most of these kit cars. This
kit was built using all new parts. The car has only 8.500 kilometers(a little over 5,000 original miles) since
built in 2007. The engine, transmission, suspension, wheels/tires, performance upgrades, chrome accessories and
exhaust have less than 2,000 miles on them. This car is California smog exempt(titled as a specialty car) and has a
B.A.R. identification tag on the fire wall to prove it

Jaguar opens new engine plant in the UK

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

The heads of Jaguar Land Rover are having a busy couple of weeks opening factories. Just days after inaugurating the company's first overseas plant in China, the automaker's new Engine Manufacturing Center in the UK is being inaugurated, as well. The plant near Wolverhampton, England, marks the first time in decades that JLR is building its own powerplants in-house. Further signaling the importance of this launch for the business, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were on hand and even tweeted about it.
The factory's first major project is to build JLR's latest Ingenium four-cylinders, starting with the 2.0-liter diesel version. "Our new Engine Manufacturing Centre is an important step in advancing the competitiveness and capability of the UK automotive sector. The production of in-house engines will support the expansion of the UK supply chain providing critical mass for inward investment," said Trevor Leeks, plant operations director in the automaker's announcement.
Opening the doors to the Engine Manufacturing Center has been years in the making for JLR. The plant was first announced in September 2011 and broke ground in June 2012. Building it cost the company 500 million pounds ($800 million) and created 1,400 new jobs. Of course, being a state-of-the-art factory, considerations were made to make the place as energy efficient as possible. That meant installing the UK's largest solar array with 21,000 panels to produce about 30 percent of the site's electricity needs.

2016 Jaguar F-Type debuts available manual transmission, AWD

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

If you're like us, you fell in the deepest, darkest sort of love with Jaguar's F-Type the moment its voluptuous form first surfaced. The car's full-bodied engine specs only furthered our ardor, and the droptop Jag sealed the deal before we even turned a wheel - all it took was hearing its engine bark to life.
And yet, even after driving the original convertible and the subsequent coupe, we've never quite shaken the notion that Jaguar erred a bit too heavily on the Grand Touring side of the equation for a proper sports car. That's partially because even the base model comes with a boatload of weight-adding luxury features. But perhaps more importantly, it's because the F-Type has only been available with an automatic transmission. Admittedly, the gearbox in question is a damned good paddle-shifted eight-speed ZF unit, but it's always chafed a bit that Jaguar wasn't committed to offering purists a manual - even if such a model would never be a high-volume proposition.
Apparently we weren't the only ones bothered by three-pedal omission. According to Russ Varney, F-Type Vehicle Program Director,

Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee season 2 opens with Sarah Silverman and Jag E-Type

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

Season Two of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee kicked this week in style. How much more style is there to be had than in a 1969 Jaguar XKE, after all? This time around, Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman spend some time driving around in the "slinky, sexy" Jag, talking comedy and then grabbing breakfast.
In addition to the kickoff of the show's second season, this episode also represents the start of a 24-episode sponsorship with Acura. The original deal promised short ads at the beginning and end of each episode, but this time around, Seinfeld "stumbles upon" a 2014 Acura RLX, which is obviously - and admittedly - the work of product integration. Scroll down to watch Seinfeld and Silverman exchange banter with the Jag's beauty as a happy backdrop.
