1997 Jaguar Xk8 Xk Convertible 87,860 on 2040-cars
Hoboken, New Jersey, United States
I have owned my beautiful XK8 Convertible for just over 3 years. I'm only selling because my wife has finally convinced me that the boys are too big now to sit in the back now !
The car runs very well and is an awesome ride. I only commute 2.5 miles everyday and its always been garaged. Here is a list of the work I have had done to it: March 2011, 79291 miles. NJ State Inspection; front brake pads, engine serviced. June 2011 Replaced Battery Dec 2011, 82217 miles 4 New Tires fitted, engine serviced. Replaced Negative cable for Battery Oct 2012, 84306 miles New brake pads front/back, Coolant level sensor, engine serviced Mar 2013, 85449 miles Spark plug seal, left and right valve cover gaskets and seals. NJ State Inspection As above I have mentioned there are a few marks, worst being the small scrape on the right rear quarter and the rear fender. Please see photographs. Also the electric roof switch (works fine) has broken from its mount, so I leave the switch poking out a bit, looks like it could be glued in place. There are two keys and remotes (which need new battery's). Original Jaguar Handbook and info in binder that has its own slot in the glove compartment. These is a SONY CD player that will play and charge IPOD. A Sirius Satellite Radio. Please email any questions. |

Jaguar XK and F-Type meet for final sibling faceoff
Fri, 08 Aug 2014There's nothing that real, dyed-in-the-wool car geeks love so much as to say "Old Car X is actually a lot better than New Car Y." For reasons that defy both logic and science, we all (your author included) are able to, almost simultaneously, bitch about needed advancements in current vehicles and then bemoan character lost in the next crop.
Mitsubishi Evo models have been supremely prone to this bifurcation of opinion in recent years (ask an Evo IX fanboy about the Evo X sometime... ), and performance cars wearing WRX, Mustang, and M3 badges have been deeply subject to it, as well.
The Jaguar XK and F-Type are not exactly in the same one-model, generational-changeover form as those mentioned above, but that doesn't mean that there aren't defenders of both the old dog and the new joint. Autocar seeks the truth of the matter in this new video, and we're just happy to come along for the ride. May the best sib win.
Jaguar Land Rover creates new Special Operations division for halo vehicles, bespoke commissions
Fri, 13 Jun 2014Jaguar Land Rover has announced that a new division of the British manufacturer will be dedicated to "bespoke commissions," as well as heritage products and apparel. Oh, and the new Special Operations division will also be behind JLR's halo cars from now on.
It's that last one that is the most tantalizing, as the last real halo product to see production from Jaguar was the XJ220. The Range Rover, meanwhile, has always had its own kind of halo reputation, although the Land Rover brand itself has never really gotten into the game with a dedicated model.
According to JLR, the new halo models will focus on ultra-high performance and luxury with a limited run of vehicles. The bespoke models, meanwhile, will give the wealthiest customers full sway over how vehicles are outfitted, with unique paints, trims and other accessories. The new SpecOps division will be run by John Edwards.
2014 Jaguar F-Type V8 S [w/video]
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Withhold judgment on the world's greatest exhaust note until after you've heard the Jaguar F-Type V8 S (scroll down now for a sneak peek). Its cackle, boom and pop under deceleration will have you rifling through its glovebox looking for a tool to remove the stereo as an in-dash audio system.
Combining modern technology with age-old exhaust plumbing, Jaguar's British engineers have developed a way to propel spent combustion gases into the atmosphere in a manner that elevates the complete driving experience. At idle, it purrs. Under acceleration, it roars. During cruise, it soothes. Perhaps most compellingly, during deceleration, it titillates.
Thankfully, the newest two-place convertible from Jaguar isn't only defined by its mesmerizing soundtrack - the F-Type would be an impressive sports car even if the world went silent.
