Up for sale is my 1977 Jeep CJ7 Renegade with a 304 V8 and a 4 speed transmission.
I spent the last five years restoring this vehicle from the ground up, taking it to the bare frame and bringing it back to its current beauty. The only parts I keep when I tore it down was the frame, the front and rear differentials, the transmission, and the transfer case, everything else is NEW! It has a Dana 30 front axle, a AMC 20 rear axle, a Borg Warner T-18A transmission with granny low, and a DANA 20 transfer case. I am uncertain about the ring and pinion gear but it has great low end torque and doesn't like to go fast, so I am figuring the previous owner was attempting to build a off road type vehicle. It has a new body from Willy's Overland with the JEEP stamped into the sides and the tailgate, new stainless dash, new bestop top with tinted rear windows, new fold and tumble rear seat with headrests, new front seats, new tuffy console, well new everything! As I stated I have invested five years and a very large amount of money into this project so if it sells it will not sell cheap and I have set a reserve.
You cannot see it in the pictures but I did upgrade the roll bar to the "Family Bar" which came from a 92-95 Wrangler and allows the rear passengers to have shoulder belts instead of the factory rear lap belts. It has true dual exhaust with dual catalytic convertors so if you have emissions testing in your area it will pass no problem.
The bad: the speedometer does not work, cable is new, the head spins free, not sure what it is, I am not sure if the fuel gauge is accurate yet, I haven't driven it enough to tell.
That is all I can think of, this vehicle is for sale AS IS, Where Is, I will provide a clean title, and a receipt book with all the receipts from the build, it is a 3 inch binder that is overflowing.
If you want to have it inspected or drive it, that must be done prior to bidding.
The winner will have 24 hours to place a $500 deposit on the vehicle, the remaining balance will be paid by certified check within 7 days, the title and vehicle will not leave my possession until the check has cleared, or I have cashed it at your bank if possible.
Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have, thank you for looking.

2014 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]
Tue, 10 Dec 2013The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest. Here now is the list of finalists for the big prizes:

Jeep reveals annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari concepts
Wed, 20 Mar 2013Jeep has unveiled its annual spate of concepts before the Easter Jeep Safari. Those start with the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept (below left), complete with the company's EcoDiesel V6 engine. Designers threw in a set of 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires wrapped around 17-inch Rubicon wheels, and a set of custom fender flares help keep all that rubber under wraps.
Meanwhile, the Wrangler Mopar Recon (below right) packs a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 good for 470 horsepower. All that grunt gets to the ground via a five-speed automatic transmission and a set of a Dana 60 axles frond and rear with 4.10 gears. The Recon also makes use of a 4.5-inch prototype long-arm kit and a set of prototype eight-lug bead lock wheels.
The Wrangler Stitch (below left) builds on the momentum of the Wrangler Pork Chop Concept. Engineers once again set out to strike as much weight as possible from the vehicle, and actually managed to trim the curb weight down to 3,000 pounds. That effort has given the machine the same power to weight ratio as the Grand Cherokee SRT8. Plenty of carbon fiber, door deletes and a chrome moly roll cage all help trim those pounds, and a set of DanyTrac Pro Rock 44 axles with 4.88 gears and ARB lockers front and rear let this machine scramble over whatever is in its path.
Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo
Mon, 06 Oct 2014The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
