OK, so it started life as a 79 CJ7... and the hood and grille are still there. The rest of the body is fiberglass. Kwik Wire wiring harness. Frame is from the same Deuce that the Rockwell axles came from. Custom 4-link front and rear with rebuildable joints - arms are 2" round bar stock, drilled and tapped. Wheelbase stretch forward 13" and rear 3" to clear the massive tires.  Custom hydraulic steering. Front and rear pinion brakes. 52" Michelins wrapped around Deuce 20" Wheels (centers cut out and flipped). Runs on LP. Chevy 350 from a 70 Impala (Milodon 8 quart oil pan) Mallory distributor backed up by SM465 Muncie 4 speed and an NP205 transfer case. Customer HD driveshafts. Custom rollcage with Toyota Supra front seats and 5-point harnesses.

Truck is 93" wide and tracks dead straight. I built it to be bulletproof and it is.

This truck is not street legal (although it does have a clear Wisconsin title). To be Wisconsin street legal, the headlights need to be lowered 12" (plow lights would do it), pinion brakes would need to be replaced with wheel brakes w/ an emergency brake, bumpers within 30" of the ground would need fabbing and a speedo would need to be added. If it doesn't sell, I will end up making those mods, just because I can and there's a few officers that would go nuts as I drove it into town.

Feel free to ask questions, but only if you are truly interested in the truck - I don't have time to help you design your truck, but if you buy mine I'll be glad to give you all the info I have.

This truck has been a labor of love, but I no longer have enough days in the year to enjoy it like I used to. It has been very good to me, but I just can't justify having it as a yard ornament 360 days per year.

Over $10,000 invested and hundreds of hours. If you have ever built something like this, axles minimum $1,200, Suspension joints and links $1,800, Tires $800, Wheels $500... Easily spend $10 just to start with. Screaming deal for a well built truck.

Refreshed Chrysler 300 SRT won't be sold in NA

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

It looks like it might be time to bid farewell to the V8 rumble from the Chrysler 300 SRT - at least if you live in North America. The reported change comes as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reshuffles its ranks with the Dodge brand, re-absorbing SRT and building its muscular reputation with the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Meanwhile, Chrysler is taking a more mainstream approach, and that likely means the end of overt high-performance models from the division for now.
According to Automotive News, the 300 SRT will be discontinued in the US for 2015, but it won't be totally dead. Some right-hand drive markets will still get the brawny V8 sedan next year, a distinction that goes a long way toward explaining some spy shots we've seen recently.
The 300 SRT's North American demise probably shouldn't come as a total shock. In FCA's five-year plan, it says that the 300 is destined for a refresh to be unveiled later this year, presumably at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. There's no mention of the SRT model in the document, though, which seems to signal its end.

Watch this Jeep Willys return to its birthplace after 70 years

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.
The whole adventure was chronicled on a blog aptly named A Jeep Comes Home. Scroll down for a brief video from Chrysler and for some photos of the Toledo visit and be sure to read more at Argento's blog.
