Jeep Cj8 Scrambler. Was used on a farm since mid 1990's. Original 258CI 4 speed. Needs total restoration. I purchased the jeep with intentions to restore, but I just have too much going on at this time. My loss is your gain. The keys were missing when I got the jeep so I installed a new ignition switch. I also installed a new battery and starter. The original plastic valve cover was leaking so I installed a new aluminum valve cover and that stopped the leak. The engine runs strong with approximately 10K on a valve job that was done by the previous owner. The rear main seal drips a bit but the motor runs and drives good. There were no doors on the jeep when purchased, so I found some decent hard doors and installed them. It will need a windshield and also a tailgate (not hard items to find) It also does not have a hard top (bikini top now)although the bulkhead is still in place. As far as the body, it is very solid. It has rust in the typical jeep locations, but nothing major. The frame is not rotted at all as it has spent all of its life down south. It will need bed repair but I have not seen many that didn't. Drivers floor pan is solid, passenger floor pan has a couple of rust holes which again is common. I believe the mileage of 121695 to be correct. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Reserve is $3500.

Chrysler recalls small number of 2013-2014 cars and trucks over engine debris
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Chrysler is recalling a small number cars over issues with their 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. The recall, which affects 522 examples of its 2013 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 models, as well as 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot CUVs has to do with potential debris in the balance shaft bearings.
The abrasive stuff can cause the oil pressure to drop, which could lead to the engine stalling or outright failure. This situation could at best leave drivers stranded and at worst lead to a crash.
Chrysler will begin notifying owners, who will need to report in to have the balance shaft module replaced. All repairs are naturally free of charge. Scroll down for the bulletin from NHTSA.
Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment
Mon, 07 Jan 2013When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Ice skates are spectacular on frozen water, yet they are dreadful everyday footwear. I consider the Jeep Wrangler equally as specialized.
I recently spent a week with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4. Introduced for the 2007 model year, the Wrangler Unlimited is a standard JK two-door with 20.6 inches added to its wheelbase and two additional doors bolted to its passenger compartment. While Jeep offers the Unlimited in seven different trim levels, the desirable Rubicon is the most capable when the pavement ends, as it boasts a slew of hardcore off-road tools including front and rear electronic locking differentials and a front sway bar that can be disengaged at the touch of a button for improved articulation. My I-Look-Like-A-Traffic-Cone test model started with a base price of $34,095 (plus $995 destination). Options including a five-speed automatic transmission, Uconnect, tow package and a premium soft top, drove the bottom line up to $38,630.
