1984 Jeep CJ7 with only 8K miles since frame off restoration and installation of rebuilt 304V8.  As you can see from the pics this is an awesome rust free CJ that are very hard to come by these days.  Interior has original "bone" color seats and the same color for the soft top.  A ton of money has been invested in this jeep including the new tires and wheels but with a growing family it is time to upgrade to a 4 door wrangler that will have room for the whole family.  Dual exhaust with glass packs that give it a great sound of the classic muscle cars but not too loud, so it is even enjoyable to ride on the highway.  It has I believe a 2 or 2.5 inch lift with 17inch wheels and 32" tires, 4 spd manual transmission.  I get complements just about every time I take it out and it is a real joy to drive.  I have owned 5 jeeps in my lifetime and this is by far my favorite one.  Please note pictures with the soft top on have the old wheels, but they are the only pics I could find showing the soft top.  The ones with the top down are the pics that where just taken with the new wheels and tires.  I currently have PA antique plates on it which is great, as I only pay $100 a year insurance for unlimited mileage.  Please bid with confidence as this is really a great jeep in excellent condition and would cost well over $20K if you were to restore one to this condition.  Again please view all the pictures to see the beautiful condition of this jeep.

100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration

Thu, 29 May 2014

It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Jeep lays out 5-year plan, including rebirth of Grand Wagoneer and new C-segment offering

Tue, 06 May 2014

Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Machionne presented a five-year plan for the company brands this morning, with Jeep first up on a long day of presentation. Jeep's head honcho Michael Manley wasted no time in laying out what the foreseeable future will look like for what he calls the "lead global brand" of the company.
Big goals for the next half-decade will include expanding the lineup from five nameplates built in one country, to six nameplates build in six countries. That expansion of models will include both a three-row competitor, and, of course, a small vehicle to slot below Cherokee. The company is also seeking to add a whopping 1,300 dealers over the next few years, to sell all this new metal, and has an aggressive goal of doubling Jeep sales by the time 2018 rolls around.
As expected, that first salvo from the off-road brand will be the debut of the much ballyhooed Renegade small crossover in the third quarter of this year. Jeep has already designated that Renegade will get refreshed for the 2017 model year, as well.
