Restored 1983 Jeep CJ-7

This beautiful jeep originated at a dealership in Arizona.
Please note this jeep is not a Larado edition

I have spent the past 6 years restoring it.  It has a new engine,  new transmission (t5), new rear differential  (Auburn Gear)
as well as all other drive train parts including a new Dana 300 Transfer case.
All steering parts and a new super steering gear box with brace, all front end parts, steering shaft,
steering wheel ( well you get the idea )
From front to back..... front bumper, stainless grill, head lights, parking lights, side marker lights, 12000 lb
Mile Marker winch. Moving on back under the hood everything is new except the vacuum canister and
the dip stick. The Howell fuel injection is a very nice feature. all new suspension parts, brakes wheel
bearings etc. New exhaust system. Dual battery system with two Optima red top batteries.

Moving on back to the interior.... New wiring ECM for the fuel injection, new instruments and some nice stainless
parts. The overhead console keeps the electronic devices in the dry when washing the interior and it folds
down for easy access. It is supported by the roll bar extensions from a YJ jeep. Custom headliner helps
with noise. All new interior,  seats, door panels custom cushions for the rear fender wells and a Hurculiner coating
on all interior surfaces. New custom floor liner and a new air conditioner to top it all off.
oops almost forgot... the radio also plays mp3's and there is an aux input for other devices.
Two tweeters in the overhead console, 2 mid range speaker wedges behind front seats, 8" sub
woofer in the center console, a 200 watt amp under the rear seat as well as a power inverter.
Cobra night watch C.B. radio. Custom burled wood dash and burled wood console.
Garmin GPS

New dash pad visors and all seat belts replaced

The hard top is in good shape and I also have a strapless bikini top for it.  Hard doors
have many new parts, new regulator on left side and vent window on the right side, all
new rubber, stainless handles. Windshield glass and rubber is new also. Wiper motor and linkage.

Most of the other features are obvious in the photographs
Just to many parts and accessories to list.  I have all the receipts for everything, they total
up to almost $31,000.00.

New TJ style rear view mirrors, Warren bumpers front and rear,

The odometer / speedometer is one of the first parts I replaced it is now  reading 57K miles.
The engine has 25,000 and there transmission has less than 7k
Transfer case about 5k miles as of time of posting.

So whats it worth. Go take a look at the link below. Most of the jeep CJ 7's at
Austin Jeeps sell from $17,000 to $25,000 but they are only cosmetically restored, no new
engines, or other drive train parts, no winches or stainless accessories and no kick ass
stereo system.

Jeep shows off Moab Easter Safari concepts crawling the red rocks

Thu, 28 Mar 2013

While most brands are busy showing off in New York, Jeep headed out to Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari with the company's fleet of 2013 concepts. This year saw the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk II, Wrangler Mopar Recon, Wrangler Stitch, Wrangler Sand Trooper II, Wrangler Flattop and Wrangler Slim Concepts tackle the rocks and sand, and Jeep was kind enough to bring along a camera crew to film the machines rolling over a few obstacles. The result is the video below, though don't expect to see too much hardcore off road action.
Instead, the quick clip features more than a few interviews with Jeep executives, including Jeep Head of Product Design Mark Allen, explaining what makes the Easter Jeep Safari so important. You can check out the quick clip below for yourself, and be sure to thumb through our galleries of the concepts as well.

2015 Jeep Cherokee finds a bit more fuel mileage thanks to stop/start and aero tweaks

Mon, 06 Oct 2014

Just a year after it burst onto the scene, Jeep has already made a pretty substantial addition to its V6-powered Cherokee, which has proven to be an extremely popular seller so far for the brand, adding a new stop-start system for the midsize, off-road-ready CUV.
The addition of stop-start included a few aerodynamic tweaks to the Cherokee's polarizing body, resulting in a wallet-pleasing increase in fuel economy. According to the EPA, the front-drive, V6-powered Jeep will now return 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, up from 19 city and 28 highway. Four-wheel-drive, V6-powered Cherokees, meanwhile, will now return 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, up from 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg.
With 271 horsepower, 239 pound-feet of torque and these newly enhanced figures, it's refreshing to see a larger, naturally aspirated engine that is still able to take the fight to today's crop of small-displacement, turbocharged four-cylinders.

100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration

Thu, 29 May 2014

It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.
