Offering for Sale a One of a Kind Jeep Scrambler, in all my years of owning Scramblers I have only run into one other One Owner Scrambler and that was at a Scrambler Rally.

The Scrambler offered is a 1982 Scrambler in very very good condition. There is a slight dent in each front fender, one dent was repaired years ago the other I am leaving alone for this reason: the  Jeep is wearing its original paint and the original stickers, that is pretty unusual and I am not willing to alter them in any way.
The motor is the standard bullet proof 258 6 and it runs strong, 4 WD is strong and works good. I had her up in the mountains of Colorado for a week and really loved her, had no problems.  The rear end has been changed to PosiTract.

The wheels are Mickey Thompson: tires are in fair condition, probably 50%, lots of life still in them.
Interior is in very good shape for the age, seats are just starting to show a bit of wear, all glass is intact, Floorpans are RhinoCoated. All gauges on the dash work, Hard top is in exceptionally good shape for the age.
This Jeep has been loved and wel[l taken care of, maintenance always done at the scheduled intervals. It does have a new back bumper with hitch,  All exterior lights have the rock guard on them, all lights work (high beam/low beam on headlights), horn works. Jeep drives straight down the road., right now is a daily driver for me.
NOTE: I HAVE THE ORIGINAL FULL HARD TOP THAT TOTALLY ENCLOSES THE SCRAMBLER MAKING IT A TRUE SUV. THE FULL HARD TOP HAS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY TINT WINDOWS WITH SCREENS, INTACT.
I WILL SELL THE JEEP WITH EITHER THE HALF CAB TOP OR THE FULL HARD TOP, BUYERS CHOICE; OR I WILL SELL THE FULL HARD SEPARATE OF THE JEEP

This Jeep is in EXCEPTIONAL shape for 31 years old, you rarely see one like this.

NHTSA closes probes on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey

Wed, 09 Jan 2013

The Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed its investigations into 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004-2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey models. The separate probes found no issues that pose safety concerns. NHTSA began investigating certain Grand Cherokee SUVs over complaints that power steering hoses could detach during operation, thereby increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Of the 24 reports of failure, none alleged smoke or fire in the engine bay, and Chrysler has since modified the power steering cooler assembly to reduce the likelihood of the failure.
Meanwhile, certain Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles garnered a government probe after receiving complaints that the models were equipped with faulty scissor jacks. The agency had received six reports of the jacks failing or causing injuries, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. But NHTSA says the jack failure rate is similar to those found in other vehicles. In those six cases, the government agency found the jacks were being used for something other than changing a tire, and investigators could not determine whether the emergency brake was set or the rear tires were properly chocked.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: Introduction

Tue, 27 May 2014

When we look back at some of the more shocking product launches of recent yeras, the Jeep Cherokee is certainly high up on the list. And we aren't just talking about its off-the-wall, polarizing design.
For starters, it brought back the iconic Cherokee nameplate - something Jeep enthusiasts have coveted for ages. But beyond that, it brought a new evolution for the Jeep brand. After all, the Cherokee is car-based - using the same compact platform that underpins the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. It has a greater focus on technology and refinement than ever before, in an effort to appeal to a new crop of Jeep customers. And powering it all is a new (optional) V6 engine paired with an equally new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Can the Cherokee's car-based roots still allow for a vehicle that's superb when the going gets tough? Will its design still be a love/hate affair in one year's time, or will it start to blend in? Is the powertrain strong enough to not only support the needs of daily driving and road trips, but blaze a few trails as well? We're aiming to answer all these questions, and more, over the next 12 months. Welcome to the Autoblog long-term garage, Cherokee.

Chrysler resolves recall issue with NHTSA, will inspect, upgrade affected Jeeps

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

Chrysler made big news earlier in the month by refusing a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty. Last week, NHTSA boss David Strickland countered by defending his agency's request for the recall of 2.7 million Jeep SUVs. Today marked the deadline for Chrysler to formally respond to NHTSA, and it seems that both parties have met in the middle with Chrysler inspecting and upgrading some of the affected vehicles without using the word "recall," which would constitute the admission of a defect; instead, Chrysler said that it is conducting a "voluntary campaign."
At issue on these vehicles is the positioning of the fuel tank behind the rear axle that could get damaged during a rear-end collision. NHTSA has stated that at least 51 people have been killed in rear-end collisions involving these Jeeps after the vehicles caught fire, to which Chrysler countered by pointing out that both models "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity.
As a compromise on the situation, Chrysler says that it will inspect all pre-2004 Grand Cherokees and pre-2007 Liberty models and, "if necessary, provide an upgrade to the rear structure of the vehicle." According to Automotive News, this upgrade will consist of adding a trailer hitch that will presumably better protect the rear-mounted gas tank. Vehicles already equipped with a factory or Mopar hitch will not be modified. Chrysler's official statement on the matter is posted below, but no additional information has been released, such as when the campaign will begin and how many vehicles could be affected.
