1996 JEEP CHEROKEE RIGHT HAND DRIVE
NO RESERVE AUCTION - MAIL JEEP

Check out this 1996 Cherokee Right Hand Drive that we got in on trade for a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited RHD that we are selling through this no reserve auction. We have been very busy during the summer selling season and instead of spending the time to wait to get this Jeep in through service we would rather do a no reserve auction and give someone a good deal. This Jeep was originally imported in from Japan where the first owner from the United States used on his mail route in the state of New York before selling it to his sub carrier who traded it in to us. The previous carrier used it on his mail route up until we arrived with the new Jeep. However I did drive this Jeep down the road and back and it is not in the best shape. The windshield is cracked, the dash has a hole in it where the glove box is, the air does not blow cold and only blows on the highest fan setting. The body on the right side is damaged from the mail boxes as you see in the pictures, the leather interior shows signs of wear, the tires are mismatched, and the steering is off. I work in the sales department and am not a mechanic but that is just what I noticed from my 5 minute drive. We are selling this Jeep AS-IS WHERE-IS with no warranty stated or implied, the final bid is the new owner. We can help have the Jeep shipped to you if you desire. We require a $500 deposit via credit card once the auction ends within 24 hours, no excuses to this. Buyers in the state of Illinois will be required to pay all applicable tax, title, and license fees. All buyers will be charged $219 in fees and will be given a 30 day temporary tag. If you or someone you know has mechanical knowledge you can get yourself a great deal with this auction. We do have mail trays we can install where the passenger seat is missing for $475 if you like. Happy Bidding!

NHTSA closes probes on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey

Wed, 09 Jan 2013

The Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed its investigations into 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004-2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey models. The separate probes found no issues that pose safety concerns. NHTSA began investigating certain Grand Cherokee SUVs over complaints that power steering hoses could detach during operation, thereby increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Of the 24 reports of failure, none alleged smoke or fire in the engine bay, and Chrysler has since modified the power steering cooler assembly to reduce the likelihood of the failure.
Meanwhile, certain Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles garnered a government probe after receiving complaints that the models were equipped with faulty scissor jacks. The agency had received six reports of the jacks failing or causing injuries, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. But NHTSA says the jack failure rate is similar to those found in other vehicles. In those six cases, the government agency found the jacks were being used for something other than changing a tire, and investigators could not determine whether the emergency brake was set or the rear tires were properly chocked.

Chrysler readying 20 Moparized vehicles for SEMA

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

The Las Vegas Convention Center has plenty of space for aftermarket companies and automakers to show off their wares, and it looks like Chrysler is taking advantage of the spacious floor plan. At next month's SEMA Show, Chrysler will have a full 20 cars from its six brands decked out with Mopar gear.
As a hint of what is to come, Chrysler released a handful of teaser sketches showing glimpses of modified Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500, Fiat 500L and Chrysler 300 concept vehicles. The automaker will also use the venue to show off a new line of Jeep Performance Parts offered by the all-new Mopar Off-Road Division. In addition to the images, Chrysler also issued a brief press release - posted below - breaking down some of the "industry-first features" that Mopar has offered in recent years.

NHTSA investigating why Jeep recall fix is taking so long

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

Jeep's saga with the National Traffic Safety Administration and the voluntary campaign to repair 1.56 million vehicles for allegedly unsafe trailer hitches, is getting yet another chapter. The controversy appeared to finally be over in January when the automaker found a supplier for the replacement parts. Nothing is ever that easy, though, and the government regulator is now requesting documents from the company to clarify why the repairs are taking so long to begin.
Jeep parent company Chrysler has until July 16 to submit documents and answers to NHTSA explaining the situation. The regulator claims that despite its compromise to inspect and repair the models with improper hitches in June 2013, Chrysler didn't find a part supplier until December and didn't order the replacements until January. The government agency believes that the first components weren't manufactured until May of this year and vehicles may not actually be repaired until as late as August. According to the report, if the Chrysler doesn't supply what NHTSA is asking for, the agency could "take additional appropriate action as warranted."
Throughout this entire process, Chrysler has asserted that the vehicles met the applicable crash test standards of the time, and it has kept NHTSA abreast of the repair activity. In a recently released statement it said that the regulator analyzed eight rear impact reconstruction tests and found the replacement hitch to be safe. To keep up with the high demand for replacements, Chrysler is working with multiple suppliers, and they are running three shifts, six days a week to get the parts ready as soon as possible.
