Jeep Cherokee Sport 4WD A/C Towing package 2000
We’re moving so need to sell our 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 4 Wheel Drive; A/C works well; towing package. This vehicle has a few dings, but is in good condition in and out. Started as a federal government vehicle, so was well maintained for most of its life. It has 221,696 miles.
Everything works that we know of except:
1. Rear passenger window sometimes works only with either the window control or the driver control, but not both at first.
2. Radio works; we have never tried the CD player.
3. Rear window defrost button must be held down for defrost function to work.
4. We took the ‘covers’ off the wheel wells since the over-size tires rubbed with a heavy load, but still have them if you want to put them back on. Since the tires are too large, they rub against the side sometimes when reversing and make a grinding sound. This also happens when 4x4 is engaged.
5. Headliner is loose - it’s all still there, but is definitely loose.
6. It was idling a bit strangely for a while, but I think when the new coil pack was installed it helped the idle, because I haven’t noticed it idling strange for months.
7. The one noticeable area of damage is on the passenger side, in front of the rear wheel well and is noticeable; the other small dent is on the front driver fender and shows in the main photo. Other dings and scratches as expected with age.
8. One of the headlights is dim and needs to be replaced; we have a new one, but haven’t installed it yet.
9. If you let it idle too long, it will overheat (in the summer) so I think they were made with too small a radiator - had the same problem with a Ford once; it didn't overheat while driving it around.
Otherwise, that we know of, everything is OK. Interior is in good shape. Original seat covers and carpeting are all in good shape. Pulls a trailer with no trouble at all. 4WD works. Tires are excellent. There is virtually no rust - very light surface rust on some suspension - see photo. Email for more photos.
We are not mechanics, car is as is. We have listed the problems we are aware of. We are currently using the car and have no problems with it, but have no idea how it will perform if driven a long distance (we drove it to Maine from New Jersey a year ago however, and it was fine apart from overheating a few times in traffic or when idling), especially in hot weather (due to the over-heating problem), so please be aware that practically ALL used cars will have something that may need to be repaired.

Jeep rear-mounted fuel tank controversy
eBay Find of the Day: Jeep Comanche Zombie Response Unit
Sat, 02 Feb 2013We've seen some pretty fantastic apocalypse vehicles in our day. We've even owned one or two, but this particular Jeep Comanche tugs at our heart strings in all the right ways. Let's start with the basics: there's a stout 4.0-liter engine underhood hooked to a five-speed manual transmission, and while we wish this truck was four-wheel drive, the two-inch lift and oversize tires should help you overcome obstacles with enough momentum.
Details like handy shovels, Jerry cans and a brush guard inspired by the hardware on a CUCV help lend the truck a no-nonsense appeal, and the functional CB whip antenna means you can ask for backup when the undead hordes come your way. If you like what you see as much as we do, you can head over to eBay Motors to place a bid. The auction has inched up to $4,000 with just two days left on the clock.
Jeep Renegade pricing to start at $18,595?
Fri, 14 Mar 2014While there's no shortage of excitement surrounding the new Jeep Renegade, one of the limiting factors to the little trucklet will be its price. With the Kia Soul starting at $14,900 and the Nissan Juke kicking off at $18,990, the Renegade can't afford to stray away from that price bracket.
And judging by some potentially leaked pricing info, it won't. A quick Google search of "Jeep Renegade Price" reveals (at least for now) that the Italian-built Jeep will start at $18,595. The "as shown" price of $25,895 seems to indicate the Trailhawk model shown on Jeep's consumer page.
If the $18,595 figure is correct, it's likely for the base, two-wheel-drive Sport model, with the Latitude and Limited trims falling somewhere between there and the $25,895 as-equipped price of the Trailhawk.
