Up for sale is my 1986 Comanche. I bought it a couple of years ago, but now it is seldom used, and I would rather see this go to someone who will use and appreciate it.
2.8 V-6 (25 MPG), Automatic, 2wd, 235-15 tires (+80%). Starts, moves, and drives just fine. Paint is acceptable, with some small areas of clear coat popped off. It has a few scratches, but absolutely rust or major dents. All glass is intact, including the rear slider. The interior is well above average, with one torn seam in the seat that could be easily repaired. Air is cold (R-134 converted properly). The heat is hot. There is nothing wrong with this truck, other than it needs a new owner...someone who appreciates what it is, and realizes that it is not a Ranger or S-10!
I would not hesitate to get in this truck and drive it across the country. It is 26 years old, so of course it is not pristine. But a good solid Comanche that is road or work ready is hard to find.
NOTE: For some reason, the "vehicle history report" is showing a salvage or rebuilt title. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I have the clear, ORIGINAL type title in hand. The vehicle does not show any signs of ever being rebuilt or in a major accident.
Thanks for looking.

2014 Jeep Patriot and Compass ditch CVT for six-speed auto
Mon, 07 Jan 2013It was reported in Automotive News a few months ago, but a new report on Allpar.com adds some details to news that the 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot will get a six-speed automatic to replace the CVTs they currently use. According to a tip provided to Allpar, the 2014 models will begin production in March and be on sale sometime in the summer. The Jatco-sourced CVT in use until now - Jatco is owned by Nissan and Mitsubishi - has been often criticized, and many won't be sad to see it go.
The incoming six-speed automatic is said to be an all-wheel-drive cog-swapper that's the work of Hyundai and Magna and has been paired with the DynaMax AWD system used in the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage. It won't be the only Chrysler product using a transmission with ties to Hyundai: the six-speed automatic in the Dodge Dart comes from Powertech, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyundai. With the Patriot and Compass said to be driving down the trail for the last time this year, it will be a short run for the new tranny and the rumored addition of a backup camera and power rear liftgate on the Compass.

Tue, 10 Dec 2013The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest. Here now is the list of finalists for the big prizes:
