Listed is a jeep that only had a production of 6895 in 88. This truck is not the vehicle to get your 16 year olds for their first car, it is not the pretty little four wheel drive that has never had anything more than road grime in it fender wells. This truck is the ultimate off road vehicle with the capacity of carrying a load. The owner of this truck will be the go to guy or girl when they need someone to bring the fire wood and the keg to the top of the mountain for the bon fire. This truck not only can make it up the hill, but it can make it up with monsterous style on the hardest trail and with ease . This truck isn't some 4 banger rice rocket, it has the powerhouse inline six 4.0 that has driven jeep into the pages of history. And as with any good jeep the 4.0 is matted up to the ax15 five speed transmission. To ensure it doesn't matter how big that rock is this rig has a 4.5in lift and not some cheesy looking body lift but a Rustys off road full suspension lift. This wasn't a patch together lift job, or a spring over kit, it was done right with all the heavy duty extention needed to make it right, down to a cv driveshaft to allow all the power in the legendary 4.0 to make it to the wheels. I just installed a motor out of a 93 xj and replaced all seals from the head to the injectors. This motor has less than 60k on it!! It has diff guards to protect this rig from being put out of commission during even the most violent rock crawling!! This is one of the few remaining trucks with true straight axles front and rear. It's is an off road beast but she isn't going to when any beauty contest. Mechanically she is solid and the body isn't beyond restoring just not what I'd do with it. Thanks for looking!!!!!!! |

Finding surfing spots in the UK is tough work, even in a Jeep
Sun, 06 Jul 2014You truly have to love surfing to practice the sport in the United Kingdom. The area isn't exactly teeming with warm beaches full of sunbathers, and absolutely no easy spots to find big waves. To be a UK surfer, you need to be a fearless adventurer, not to mention quite lucky. And driving a Jeep might help, too.
Surfers Oli Adams and Micah Lester are traveling around the British Isles in a Jeep Wrangler Overland trying to find the best surf spots out there. These guys don't fit the laid-back surfer stereotype, but that's because finding waves in the UK is hard work. They say that the waves at some of these spots only exist for about three hours every year when the current and winds are just right.
To find these surf spots, the Jeep's offroad capabilities are paramount. In some areas, as you'll see in the video, there isn't even a beach, just jagged rocks. It would be like the movie Endless Summer, that is, if it could start snowing at any moment. These guys are clearly dedicated to their sport.
Jeep follows up Super Bowl spot with call to help the USO
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Once again, Chrysler had one of the most talked about Super Bowl commercials with its two-minute Whole Again Jeep spot, which was used to highlight its Operation SAFE Return program for US military personnel returning home from active duty. As part of this campaign, Jeep announced today that it will be donating up to $300,000 to the United Services Organizations (USO), and you can help.

Jeep is also donating to this charity to the tune of $250 for each Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited (including the Freedom Edition model) and Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition model sold.
NHTSA closes probes on Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey
Wed, 09 Jan 2013The Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially closed its investigations into 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2004-2005 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey models. The separate probes found no issues that pose safety concerns. NHTSA began investigating certain Grand Cherokee SUVs over complaints that power steering hoses could detach during operation, thereby increasing the risk of a vehicle fire. Of the 24 reports of failure, none alleged smoke or fire in the engine bay, and Chrysler has since modified the power steering cooler assembly to reduce the likelihood of the failure.
Meanwhile, certain Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey vehicles garnered a government probe after receiving complaints that the models were equipped with faulty scissor jacks. The agency had received six reports of the jacks failing or causing injuries, including one incident that resulted in a fatality. But NHTSA says the jack failure rate is similar to those found in other vehicles. In those six cases, the government agency found the jacks were being used for something other than changing a tire, and investigators could not determine whether the emergency brake was set or the rear tires were properly chocked.
