2009 Jeep Commander Sport 4x4 In Exceptional Condition With Only 59,495 Miles! on 2040-cars
North Liberty, Indiana, United States
You are bidding on a 2009 Jeep Commander Sport 4x4 with low, low miles....59,495. All miles driven are town or highway, but mostly within a 30 mile radius of home. Has never been taken off-road, but has seen some deep snow and plows through like a champ. This Jeep is a fantastic vehicle and comes from a smoke-free household....has never been smoked in and has never had animal/pets in it. Has been an absolutely fantastic vehicle....I love it and really don't want to sell it, but our growing family is simply outgrowing it :-( I purchased the vehicle brand new and have been the sole owner. We have done regular oil changes, every (3,000-4,000 miles) and have used only synthetic oil. All four tires were replaced two years ago. The only other part that has needed replaced or repaired has been the gas cap....and that was replaced just last month. Has really been a trustworthy vehicle. Is a great ride and is especially nice for passengers in the second row, as it is like stadium seating....you can see out and over the front row for a smooth, visibly appealing ride. I have a tendancy to get car sick and have never felt like that when riding in the second row of our Jeep. I have all original paperwork, owners manual, window sticker, etc. There are too many features to list, but I will certainly list the key features and if you have any questions, please just let me know and I will be happy to get back with you or even fax you the window sticker. Consumer Reports digs Mazda3, disses Jeep Cherokee
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has just rendered its verdict on two of the more important cars to launch this year - the Mazda3 and the Jeep Cherokee. Considering the value a "Recommended" rating carries with the public and the viciously competitive markets these two cars compete in, Consumer Reports' view could have some impact on their initial success.
For Mazda, that's a good thing. CR spoke quite highly of the Zoom-Zoom brand's compact sedan and hatch, testing both models, and citing the excellent fuel economy and snickety-snack manual shifter as high points. Downsides to the 3 included a ride that is agile but "nervous," a bit too much noise and a cramped back seat. Still, the 3 was good enough to earn its place in the ranks of the "Recommended."
The Jeep didn't fare quite so well, with CR calling the polarizing CUV "half-baked." Although both engines were tested, the magazine called the 2.4-liter four-pot underpowered and its nine-speed automatic unrefined and unresponsive. That's particularly damning, considering the 9AT's role in future Chrysler products, including the extremely important 200. Overall, the Cherokee missed out on the coveted "Recommended" rating.
100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration
Thu, 29 May 2014It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.
Jeep Wrangler Polar is a tasty frozen treat
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Perhaps it's because we've seen so many kitted-out examples over the years, but it seems to us that the Jeep Wrangler tends to wear its special-edition duds better than most models. It might be the icon's familiar rectilinear proportions or the inherent bolt-on look of its extremities - bumpers, mirrors, lighting, and step rails - but we've seen precious few factory specials that look anything but excellent.
Case in point: this new Jeep Wrangler Polar unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This European-market limited-edition model is said to be a celebration of winter driving, which evidently works out to a body-color hardtop, black-accent seven-slot grille, 18-inch gloss black wheels, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential and a hard hat for the spare tire. Finished here in Hydro Blue (Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White are also available) and a black interior with Polar White accents, the Polar edition features badges displaying 78° S and 106° E longitude and latitude coordinates for Vostok, Antarctica.
This new Jeep will be available in both standard and Unlimited formats with either the 3.6-liter Pentastar gas engine or the still-not-for-US 2.8-liter turbodiesel when it bows early next year. For further details, check out our gallery above and the press release below.
