This is a 71 Jeepster Commando. It is built like an old school gasser. Lets start with the new, rebuilt 327 Chevy small block bored 30 over, Edelbrock E210 heads, Voodoo cam, roller rockers, Weiand tunnel ram, twin holley 450s with 50cc pumps and 42cc squirters, flamethrower billet distrubiter and coil, ARP head and intake bolts, edelbrock push rods, chrome wheels and Coker tires, 94 Jeep cherokee 2wd front axle (not new) with new rotors and pads, new brake lines, master cylinder, wilwood residual pressure valve and splitter, auto gauge tach, velocity stacks, novac fender wheel headers, B&M hammer shifter, rebuilt turbo 350 trans with shift kit and 3500 stall converter, holley fuel pump, polly motor and trans mounts, and much more. The body work and paint was done before I got the car, its ok but not perfect (this is not a total restoration car just a fun hot rod so don't expect it to be like brand new). This car draws a lot of attention every where I take so if you don't like that kind of thing don't bid. It is a blast to drive, will get lots of rubber and is pretty fast. Dont know how much it weighs but it isn't much so it picks up speed really quickly no matter how hast you are going. Drives strait and the brakes work good, manual steering and brakes, the steering is pretty light due to the large steering wheel, brakes are a little stiff due to being manual but work good, with the power I wanted to make sure they were good so I changed the front from drum to disk. There is no top or tail gate and needs carpet and the seats redone. It has Corsa mufflers and they are very loud and the cam is pretty big so when you pull into that parking lot or car show you will get some respect. So if you want a car that is a blast to drive and draws lots of attention (and will scare the shit out of your wife) than this is the car for you.

YouTube tallies votes for this year's top five Super Bowl spots [w/video]

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

When we asked you to tell us which of this year's 16 car-themed Super Bowl commercials you liked best, you chose the Farmer commercial from Chrysler Group, advertising the Ram trucks, over Audi's Prom commercial in second place. Turns out the voters in YouTube's Ad Blitz poll agreed, voting the same commercial to the number one spot from among the field commercials in every category.
From there, however, they went in a totally different direction. Budweiser's The Clydesdales spot came second, Samsung's The Next Big Thing took third. The Jeep Whole Again ad scored fourth in the YouTube poll, fifth in our poll of auto commercials, and the Hyundai Team spot got fifth from the YouTubers, but ninth in our poll.
The voting results don't match up with the viewing numbers, though - while Farmer has more than 13 million views, The Next Big Thing is well beyond 21 million. You can read the press release below and see all five spots, lined up for you, one more time.

2014 Jeep Cherokee marketing launches with 'Built Free' commercial

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

Now that the 2014 Cherokee is finally on its way to dealerships, Jeep is starting its marketing blitz for its new crossover, beginning with this 60-second TV spot, called Built Free, that premieres today. Set to a Bob Dylan recording, the ad spot discusses something we can all relate to - the feeling of being too busy and too cooped up with everyday tasks to really get out there and explore the world. But as Jeep says in the commercial, "You're still here. And you're still you. The horizons haven't gone anywhere."
Autoblog spoke to Kim Adams-House, head of marketing for the Jeep brand, who explained that this Built Free spot is "an anthemic piece" that "sparks the conversation" for the new Cherokee. As you'll notice, none of the new Jeep's features - its off-road systems, nine-speed automatic transmission, etc. - are mentioned in the ad, but Adams-House says that future marketing "will speak to more" of the CUV's highlights. Following this 60-second spot, 30-second commercials will launch that talk about some of the specific product features.
When asked if the Built Free campaign will include any throwbacks to the original Cherokee, Adams-House told Autoblog that while "we love that vehicle," the new spots are intended to carve out "a unique space for Cherokee in our product portfolio and marketplace." On that same note, don't expect any other Jeep vehicles to get the Built Free treatment. Adams-House said that while this ad "does resonate overall with the brand," it is solely intended to promote the new Cherokee.

2014 Easter Jeep Safari kicks off with six concepts

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

The 2014 Easter Jeep Safari is set to begin this weekend in Moab, Utah, and while it's sure to be a blast for Jeep enthusiasts from all corners of the world, we're looking forward to the wild, off-road ready concepts that Jeep will be bringing to the red rocks. As you can see in our handy headline, there are six such vehicles in total, each of which sports a variety of tweaks and custom bits.
Unlike in years past, where Jeep graced us with some outrageous concepts like the Mighty FC or J-12, this year's vehicles are a bit more restrained and a bit more buildable by enthusiasts. That's not by accident, officials tell us. They wanted to put this year's focus on attainable vehicles and accessories from Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts that existing owners can use to augment their own vehicles. So let's get to it.
We'll start with the Wranglers first. There are three concepts of the jeepiest of Jeep coming to Moab - the Level Red, Maximum Performance and Mojo. The Level Red and the Mojo (seen above) are similar from a suspension and engine standpoint. Both boast a two-inch Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, which officials tell us is coming to market in the next few months. There are a pair of Dana 44 crate axles on both the front and rear, while a Jeep Performance Parts Rock-Trac transfer case has been fitted. The 3.6-liter V6 engines on both Jeeps can breathe a bit easier thanks to a new cold-air intake and exhaust system.
