Up for auction is a gorgeous 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Edition. LOW RESERVE!! BID TO WIN! It is equipped with a nicely running 5.7L V8 Hemi engine and automatic transmission. This truck is fast! Steering is nice and straight and it cruises nicely down the highway. It comes with brand new tires(less than 60 miles on them so far) and the receipt. The brakes seem good, sometimes a very little squeakiness comes out from them. The air conditioning functions as does the heat, yet it blows harder on one side than the other. The radio and speakers work very well and have a great crisp sound. The exhaust has a mean sounding rumble to it. The previous owner removed something but it doesn't have a s.e.s light on. All windows and door locks are working. The moon roof is functioning properly. The frame is solid and the title is clear. The 4x4 is working properly however a note for service 4wd comes up randomly. We searched online and found that it is very common and is an easy fix after being flashed at the dealer. NO check engine lights are on, no other warning lights are either. The truck would pass an Illinois inspection if it needed to today. ** The suv is being sold as-is without warranty. Illinois buyers and certain other states may be required to pay taxes and/or plates. A $150 document fee is added on every deal, no exceptions. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours and payment is due within 7 days unless we speak before. Payment must be cleared before paperwork is filled out for title. At point of sale you will receive bill of sale, buyer's guide, proof of payment and plates if you decide to purchase them from us. Title may take up to one month to process as it has to go through secretary of state to be put in your name. ** |

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
Six 'shut up and take my money' cars
Tue, 11 Nov 2014Any time you see this iconic moment in pop culture - Shut up and take my money! - posted in response to a new car reveal, rumor for an upcoming model or even lip-service to a vehicle that should exist, you can bet there's some intrinsic good in the idea. Though depending on the person offering up the cash, that good could take the form of extraordinary form, functionality, weight savings, power, handling, etc. You get the idea.
In fact, when I first proposed this list, I reached out to the Autoblog staff to help me brainstorm. Here are some of the ideas they offered up that I ultimately didn't use: Jaguar XE Coupe, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Mercedes-Benz S-Class "parade car" (cabriolet), Morgan 3-Wheeler with Ducati V-twin, Ford Transit Connectamino (pickup), Mercedes CLA63 AMG, Ford Fusion 5.0, BMW i8 Spyder, Lexus RC-F Shooting Brake, Volvo XC90 Polestar. Oh, and things we collectively wanted to stick Dodge's Hellcat in were almost as numerous as models that Fiat Chrysler Automotive currently makes (though none quite so compelling as the Grand Cherokee you see above.)
Ultimately though, while I used a couple of ideas from my colleagues, the list of cars I'd shell out for unquestionably is very personal. Though it isn't complete, what follows is a selection of cars whose very existence would prompt me - or the trust-fund-baby versions of me - to utter without hesitation: "Shut up and take my money."
Australian Jeep marketing stunt goes awry [w/video]
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Jeep fans in Australia are none too happy with the off-road brand following a contest that saw ten new Cherokees sold for just $10,000 Australian (about $9,400), roughly a quarter of the vehicle's price Down Under.
The contest, called the "World's Most Remote Dealership," gave Aussies the chance to snag an ultra-affordable Cherokee Longitude (analogous to the US-spec Latitude trim), provided they could get to a secret dealership in the remote wilderness of western New South Wales, near the border with the state of South Australia.
In order to get the exact location of the dealership, though, potential customers needed to download an app, which would release a phone number 9:00 AM AEST on Thursday (7:00 PM EDT, Wednesday night). The first ten people who could call in and prove they could afford to finance $10,000 and get to the remote dealership, were given the location of the remote dealership.
