2002 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4, black with 'ivory' color leather interior. This vehicle has never been in an accident and has a clean title. I have driven this Jeep for 3 years and have never had any mechanical issues. It is a solid, reliable vehicle. This Jeep Liberty has only been driven in city conditions, has never been driven off-road. I am only the second owner, the first owner was an adult driver like myself, we both took good care of this vehicle.
This Jeep is highly optioned, loaded with: Dual Power Seats, Heated Leather Seats, Power Sunroof, Roof Rack, Tinted Windows, Towing Package, Fog Lights, Cruise Control, Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Cargo Shade, and Keyless Entry. This Jeep is equipped with the 3.7L V6 Automatic Transmission with 4 wheel-drive. It has just under 96,000 miles on it and has been well maintained with all scheduled maintenance, oil changes, and fluid checks. Floors on driver and passenger side were protected by large rubber mats throughout the life of the vehicle, the carpeting is nicely preserved throughout the vehicle. Hardly anyone has ever sat in the back seat, the seats & floors look excellent. I have gotten alot of compliments on how nice this Jeep is, many are surprised it is a 2002. The outside needs a wax, as there is some scratches to the clear coat in some areas on the hood, would be able to be buffed out. There is a "bb size" ding on the back passenger door. The leather seats in front show normal / minimal wear. Leather seats in back in excellent condition, still look like new. 2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?
Tue, 29 Oct 2013Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.
Federal investigations about safety of rear-mounted gas tanks is nothing new
Sun, 09 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Chrysler are currently making waves in our daily news feeds due to a disagreement over the safety of a few million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models. Specifically, NHTSA has asked Chrysler to recall the SUVs because of the location of their fuel tanks, but you may be interested to know that requests such as this are nothing new.
Besides the two Jeep models, NHTSA has launched investigations over the years in such models as the Ford Crown Victoria (and its police-car counterpart), GM pickups built between 1972 and 1987, and rather famously the Ford Pinto.
Understanding how automakers and NHTSA have dealt with fuel-tank-safety concerns in the past may offer a better understanding of how Chrysler and the government agency will settle their current dispute. Check out the complete article from The Detroit News here.
Chrysler recalls small number of 2013-2014 cars and trucks over engine debris
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Chrysler is recalling a small number cars over issues with their 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. The recall, which affects 522 examples of its 2013 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 models, as well as 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot CUVs has to do with potential debris in the balance shaft bearings.
The abrasive stuff can cause the oil pressure to drop, which could lead to the engine stalling or outright failure. This situation could at best leave drivers stranded and at worst lead to a crash.
Chrysler will begin notifying owners, who will need to report in to have the balance shaft module replaced. All repairs are naturally free of charge. Scroll down for the bulletin from NHTSA.
