This is a 2002 Jeep "Liberty Sport" from an estate sell with only 77,170 miles. The vehicle has been checked by two qualified mechanics; oil changed and other fluids topped off, new oil filter, lubed, belts checked and engine has been computer diagnosed and all shows okay. Two new front tires, back tires have very good tread; and a new "Long-Life" battery has been installed. The air-conditioning is not working, needs condenser fixed. This should be a simple fix and not too costly. Radiator needs to be replaced, (they are made of plastic and is a problem known with Jeeps.) This is a great buy for the few dollars to repair and the value they hold! It has just pasted smog inspection and license paid to October; clean title in hand; no digs or dents, very few to light scratches which should be able to be rubbed-out. No paint oxidation. I have been advised that four-wheel drive Jeeps such as this one, are highly desirable because they can be easily towed behind RV's.
Features:
• Four wheel drive
• 3.7 L V6 engine
• Automatic transmission
• Special finder treatment
• Cloth bucket seats
• 60/40 split bench back seat
• Power steering
• Power breaks
• A/C (needs service)
• FM/AM/CD radio
• Tilt wheel
• Power mirrors
• Power door locks
• ABS
• SRS
• Steel wheels
• Remote entry
• Two way open rear cargo hatch
• Custom spare tire cover
• Forest green with black trim

The estate is the original owner. I am the Administrator of the Estate and provided as much information about the vehicle and the service I had done before posting on behalf of the estate.
* The passenger door key lock has been tampered with when vehicle was broken into; property was stolen and insurance/accident report made. This vehicle has NOT been in any accidents; a vandalism claim was made to the insurance company. Thus, the CARFAX report shows one claim.

Jeep Renegade pricing to start at $18,595?
Fri, 14 Mar 2014While there's no shortage of excitement surrounding the new Jeep Renegade, one of the limiting factors to the little trucklet will be its price. With the Kia Soul starting at $14,900 and the Nissan Juke kicking off at $18,990, the Renegade can't afford to stray away from that price bracket.
And judging by some potentially leaked pricing info, it won't. A quick Google search of "Jeep Renegade Price" reveals (at least for now) that the Italian-built Jeep will start at $18,595. The "as shown" price of $25,895 seems to indicate the Trailhawk model shown on Jeep's consumer page.
If the $18,595 figure is correct, it's likely for the base, two-wheel-drive Sport model, with the Latitude and Limited trims falling somewhere between there and the $25,895 as-equipped price of the Trailhawk.
Chrysler defies NHTSA, says it won't recall 2.7M Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty models
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Facing a possible recall totaling around 2.7 million of its most popular SUVs, Chrysler remains insistent that the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty are safe vehicles. This comes on the heels of a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for these two models due to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle, which could possibly be ruptured during severe rear-end collisions, leading to an increased risk of fire. In response to the allegations, Chrysler says that it does not agree with NHTSA nor does it plan on recalling either vehicle.
Chrysler said both SUVs "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity, and cooperated fully with NHTSA since the investigation was opened in 2010. While 15 deaths and 46 injuries have been reported from fires caused by rear-end collisions on these models, Chrysler is claiming that the vast majority of incidents cited by NHTSA were "high-energy crashes," including one where a stopped Grand Cherokee was rear-ended by a tractor trailer going 65 miles per hour.
The automaker wraps up by saying "NHTSA seems to be holding Chrysler Group to a new standard for fuel tank integrity that does not exist now and did not exist when the Jeep vehicles were manufactured." Scroll down for Chrysler's official response to NHTSA, but we're pretty sure this isn't the last we've heard on this issue.
100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration
Thu, 29 May 2014It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.
