2005 Jeep Liberty Crd Turbo Diesel 30+mpg Low Miles New Engine on 2040-cars
Durham, Connecticut, United States
Nice low mileage Jeep Liberty Limited CRD Turbo Diesel 4X4. We are the second owners of the vehicle. This Jeep has a factory new engine installed less than 5K miles ago. Why was the engine replaced? Original engine was damaged during warranty period due to catastrophic turbo failure. Impeller in turbo shattered, metal shavings were put through the intake into engine and caused cylinder wall damage. Chrysler replaced the engine, turbo and intercooler with brand new ones under warranty. This Jeep gets 30+ miles per gallon on highway! Only reason I'm selling it is that I have too many vehicles and I need a larger SUV. Please pardon the quality of pictures, they were taken before the vehicle was fully detailed. No mechanical problems! No rust anywhere! No cosmetic issues! We can assist the buyer with shipping the vehicle anywhere at buyer's cost. Please call me with any questions at 860-322-0195. |

This American Life spends a week selling Jeeps in Long Island
Thu, 19 Dec 2013So you think you know car dealers? Well, maybe you do, but This American Life spent a month at Town and Country Jeep Chrysler Doge Ram in Long Island to give us a behind-the-scenes look (or listen, since it's a radio program) at what it's like to be a car dealer.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing in thick New York accents, frustration, confusion, and generally it's a madhouse at the dealership. But that's understandable when the sales staff has to sell 129 vehicles in October in order to get an $85,000 manufacturer bonus - with several other Jeep dealerships within a 10-mile radius.
The episode, 129 Cars, is worth a listen, but make sure you have 71 minutes to spare if you want to get through it in one sitting. Head here for the unedited version or here for the bleeped version (which is 58 minutes long).
Chrysler delays 2014 Jeep Cherokee media launch
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Chrysler is making the unusual move of delaying the first media drives of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which were slated to start next week in Seattle. And while something like this is a rare occurrence, and one that most of the Autoblog staff can't recall happening this publicly or so close to the event itself, it won't effect the actual on-sale date of the new Cherokee, which is set to hit showrooms in September.
"Over the last couple of weeks during final quality and durability testing, we have discovered the opportunity to further improve powertrain calibration," Chrysler told Automotive News. This marks the second notable delay in the Cherokee's short life, after production was delayed for roughly a month earlier this summer.
Still, we'd rather Chrysler make sure the Cherokee is ready for primetime before flying media in from around the country. It shows a willingness to get things right the first time, rather than offering media drives and then tweaking the car after the fact.
Jeep Grand Cherokee in headliner fire probe
Fri, 23 Aug 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching an investigation into 146,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2012 model year, The Detroit News reports. This comes as the result of the government safety agency receiving three complaints from owners who cited fires inside the Jeep's cabin.
According to the report, NHTSA says:
"The customers reported a burning odor and visible smoke coming from the headliner while the vehicle was being driven. This was followed by flames from the headliner itself. Customers lowered the windows in an effort to clear the smoke but this increased the fire's intensity. All three vehicles had to be extinguished with a fire extinguisher or by the fire department as they continued to burn after the vehicle was turned off."
