My loss is your gain
I’m selling this Jeep which I bought almost 2 years ago as a fun project. I really got into the Wagoneer thing and bought a few other Wagoneers, fixed them up and really had a lot of fun. But, things have changed in my life and I’m moving and getting out of this hobby. So, I got rid of the other Jeeps which were much less of projects. This was the one I poured my heart and soul into and, too bad, it’s still not done. But, I need to get rid of it. So, it’s a 1983 Jeep Wagoneer that had a lot of body rust
when I got it. Floors were bad too. I’ve fixed all of that, but not
professionally. It’s all in good shape now. All the major mechanicals work
fine. New brakes, new exhaust, new battery, new spark plug wires and more, I’m
sure.Back door was a mess, so I took one off another jeep, got a good used motor, window fixed, etc. You can see I went for a different look that the traditional
Woody. I think it looks kind of mean and 4 wheeler type, but you judge for
yourself. I left out the back seat, but I have one for you. There are several things that still need to be done, like
minor electrical things. Turn signals, dome lights, some switches, power
mirrors, etc. I bought a new radio and some friends who know a lot more than I
do, tried to install it, but they are stuck. So, it’s all there, plus the old
one. Some type of power or ground issue. Needs a headliner and I have 2 of the cardboard backings that you can use if you get the material. I have many parts that you will want or need for this. Some are new from Team Grand Wagoneer and others used. Dome lights, switches, extra set of window motors, kick panels, 2 new speakers, switches, relays, fuses, light bulbs, etc. I will include everything that I have that I think you will need. (Some of the pictures are parts that don't go with this vehicle, but I just wanted to give you an idea of what I have. There are some parts not shown that will be included, like the kick panels.) |

This American Life spends a week selling Jeeps in Long Island
Thu, 19 Dec 2013So you think you know car dealers? Well, maybe you do, but This American Life spent a month at Town and Country Jeep Chrysler Doge Ram in Long Island to give us a behind-the-scenes look (or listen, since it's a radio program) at what it's like to be a car dealer.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing in thick New York accents, frustration, confusion, and generally it's a madhouse at the dealership. But that's understandable when the sales staff has to sell 129 vehicles in October in order to get an $85,000 manufacturer bonus - with several other Jeep dealerships within a 10-mile radius.

2014 Jeep Cherokee will keep Liberty designation in China... sort of
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Chinese buyers will get their first live look at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee during the Shanghai Motor Show, but CarNewsChina is reporting that it will go by a different name - Ziyou Guan, which translates to "Liberty Light." The article states that our Jeep Liberty was never sold in China, but the iconic XJ Cherokee was sold and produced there as the Qinuoji (a phonetic translation of Cherokee).
The new Jeep Liberty Light will be built alongside the Fiat Viaggio (China's Fiat-badged version of the Dodge Dart) at the Guangzhou-Fiat plant, and the two models will share the same powertrains: a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder base engine paired to a five-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder (the base engine for the US-spec 2014 Cherokee) as an optional engine. It doesn't sound like the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 will be offered in China.

Jeep Wrangler Polar is a tasty frozen treat
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Perhaps it's because we've seen so many kitted-out examples over the years, but it seems to us that the Jeep Wrangler tends to wear its special-edition duds better than most models. It might be the icon's familiar rectilinear proportions or the inherent bolt-on look of its extremities - bumpers, mirrors, lighting, and step rails - but we've seen precious few factory specials that look anything but excellent.
Case in point: this new Jeep Wrangler Polar unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This European-market limited-edition model is said to be a celebration of winter driving, which evidently works out to a body-color hardtop, black-accent seven-slot grille, 18-inch gloss black wheels, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential and a hard hat for the spare tire. Finished here in Hydro Blue (Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White are also available) and a black interior with Polar White accents, the Polar edition features badges displaying 78° S and 106° E longitude and latitude coordinates for Vostok, Antarctica.
This new Jeep will be available in both standard and Unlimited formats with either the 3.6-liter Pentastar gas engine or the still-not-for-US 2.8-liter turbodiesel when it bows early next year. For further details, check out our gallery above and the press release below.
