Please make sure and read full add: Do to the amount of scams I am requesting a $500.00 deposit through paypal at the end of auction before picking up the Jeep. The Jeep must be paid in full no later than 5 days after auction. The deposit is non refundable......................... This is a 1990 Jeep Wrangler . It is a 4 Cylinder motor Manuel Transmission 5 Speed. I bought this Jeep about 2 years ago and really have not done much with it. I have about $5,500.00 into it. I was told by the original owner that he had replaced the engine with a 4 cylinder down geared. It shows 160k miles on it but obviously cuase of the engine swapo it is not acurate. The speedomter is not working. The Jeep runs great .When I purchased the Jeep I replaced the fuel pump and spent about $420.00. About four months ago I got new shockes for it. I took it to the shop and they measured the lift . It is 16 inch lift with 38 inch tires. I paid about $680.00 for the shocks.I bought new Pro-Comp shocks for it. The interior is pretty bare . I had planned to Rhino Line it and keep the seats that are in it. The rag top on it is in bad shape but never used it most people dont. This Jeep turns a lot of heads. I have an extra role bar, rear lights, High lift Jack , spare tire with matching rim ,new battery and a utility bar. The registration is due in May 2013 I recently paid all the fees on it and put it under a non-ops since I dont use it. I have a clean title on it . If you have any questions or would like to buy this Jeep before end of auction or make an appointment to come and see it call me at (818) 425-2377.Please make sure and ask as many questions Jeep is sold as is .I have listed as much as I can think of.Feel free to call me at any time please DO NOT TEXT. Chrysler, Nissan looking into claim that their cars are industry's most hackable

Sun, 10 Aug 2014

A pair of cyber security experts have awarded the ignominious title of most hackable vehicles on American roads to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, 2014 Infiniti Q50 and 2015 Cadillac Escalade.
Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek are set to release a report at the Black Hat hacking conference in Las Vegas, Automotive News reports. The two men found the Jeep, Caddy and Q50 were easiest to hack based not on actual tests with the vehicles, but a detailed analysis of systems like Bluetooth and wireless internet access - basically, anything that'd allow a hacker to remotely gain access to the vehicle's systems.
Considering this lack of hands-on testing, the pair acknowledge that "most hackable" could be a relative term - they point out that the vehicles may actually be quite secure.

NHTSA boss Strickland weighs in on Jeep recall fracas

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

Adding yet another chapter to the ongoing Jeep recall story, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) head David Strickland has gone on record to defend the government's request that Chrysler recall 2.7 million out-of-production Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Liberty vehicles after the agency investigated fiery rear-end collisions that have reportedly killed at least 51 people over the years. In statements made to The Detroit News, Strickland said, "We felt very strongly that the process that we undertook and the findings that we made and ... we made the decision to issue a recall request. We do not take that very lightly." The top US auto safety regulator stopped short of telling owners to park their cars until the automaker takes action. "They can make their own risk assessment and their own choices," he said.
Chrysler does not intend to recall the models, insisting the "vehicles met and exceeded all applicable requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, including FMVSS 301, pertaining to fuel-system integrity" when they were manufactured and sold. "The company does not agree with NHTSA's conclusions and does not intend to recall the vehicles cited in the investigation. The subject vehicles are safe and are not defective," Chrysler announced last week in a statement. "We believe NHTSA's initial conclusions are based on an incomplete analysis of the underlying data, and we are committed to continue working with the agency to resolve this disagreement."
Legally, Chrysler has until June 18 to formally respond to NHTSA's request. If the automaker does not take action, NHTSA is expected to issue a formal finding and seek a recall.

Jeep gunning for 1M sales this year

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Jeep CEO Mike Manley would rather soft-pedal the seven-figure prognostication for now, but Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne won't have it, proclaiming in an interview that Jeep will sell one million units worldwide this year. Manley has called that come-hither number "a stretch," the history of recent gains perhaps reason for his caution: in 2011 the brand sold 568,317 units, followed by the record-breaking tally of 701,626, then another record in 2013 with 731,565 units moved.
That kind of gap means everything will need to go magically for Jeep to record a 37-percent increase this year - amazing Cherokee sales, a brilliant launch for the little Jeep arriving in Europe later this year and a heavy wave to raise sales in US, European and Chinese markets. Manley is confident about the prospects in 2015, though, with the Cherokee in full stride, the Fiat-based Jeep on its way to the US and expanded global production. It's not as though Marchionne's prediction for Jeep's 2014 sales is unexpected, since he first made it last year. But even if the number ends up a little short for 2014, there's no doubt it will be impressive.
