If you have been looking for a pre 1997 square headlight Wrangler that has been well maintained, this is the Jeep for you. I bought this Jeep as a tinker toy and one thing lead to another. I ended up going through it mechanically and it is now ready for somebody to enjoy. The vehicle is in nice shape, I have replaced the following with new parts; Interior carpet, brakes, tie rod ends, shocks, sway bar bushings, exhaust system, heater core,hoses, spark plugs,thermostat, distributor cap and rotor, valve cover gasket and the air filter. I have had the throttle body serviced and the transmission rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. The jeep is an automatic and the four wheel drive works as it should and shifts easily. The tires are BF Goodrich all terrains and have about 75% of their tread left on them. The Jeep has nice road manners at all speeds and goes down the road straight without any vibrations or strange noises, it rides quite compfortably with the new shocks and bushings. I am going to be a father for the first time and this forces the sale of my toys. The Jeep has newer paint and shines up very well, there is one area on the front fender that has developed a two inch area of rust above the fender flare. If the vehicle meets the reserve, I will have the fender replaced with a new one and will have it professionally painted at no cost to you. If it doesnt bother you I will reduce the price by $600.00 and you can have it fixed at a later date. Jeep Wrangler Mojo and Cherokee Dakar teased ahead of Moab Easter Safari
Wed, 02 Apr 2014Jeep has an annual tradition of debuting wild, new concepts during its Easter Jeep Safari, and this year looks to be no different. The automaker has already confirmed two of the six vehicles for 2014 - the Cherokee Dakar (pictured above) and Wrangler Mojo. This year's event runs in Moab, Utah, from April 12-20.
There are no official details about either of the concepts yet - Jeep will release more info on the new models next week. Judging by the pictures, though, the Cherokee Dakar appears to be lifted with some knobby off-road tires. The Wrangler Mojo looks to have a bulging hood that might hide a more powerful engine underneath.
Past vehicles at the Easter Jeep Safari have included a Hemi V8-powered Wrangler, a classically inspired pickup and modernized Jeep Forward Control. Since this is the brand's chance to express itself every year, hopefully it has some more sensational concepts up its sleeve. Jeep Cherokee appears in Chrysler's second Super Bowl spot
Mon, 03 Feb 2014The second of three spots produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for this year's Super Bowl featured the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Aired during the game's half time show, the minute-long ad didn't strike as anything new or innovative from an automaker with a reputation for above average Super Bowl spots, but it did show the controversially styled Cherokee in the best light possible.
Called Restless, the commercial shows young, adventurous types doing the sorts of things that young, adventurous types do: surfing, skateboarding, cliff jumping, staring off into the sky with a pensive expression, etc. Scroll down to watch Restless for yourself and let us know in Comments if Jeep managed to hold your attention during half time.
Chrysler recalls 468,700 Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders over rollaway risk
Mon, 13 May 2013Chrysler has issued a recall covering a combined 469,000 units of the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (inset). Of that number, 295,000 are in the US, roughly 33,000 in Canada and Mexico and the remainder in other markets. It seems an electrical fault in the transfer case can allow the affected SUVs to shift into neutral on their own, while an Associated Press report says that Chrysler had "found cracks in a circuit board that turns the four-wheel-drive system on and off." The issue was discovered when an owner started his car remotely and it rolled away.
Chrysler is expected to begin notifying owners in June 2013, who can then take their cars to dealers. The dealer will reflash the final drive controller free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.
