Its been a great jeep, but time to let it go! Great jeep for summer! I had been using as a daily driver up to about a month ago, but a car to get better mpg. Jeep runs good, shifts fine, and 4wd seems to work the way it should. This jeep does have a 1" body lift, and fender flares so it can run 31" tires(the ones on it need replaced). I replaced the soft top about a year ago, and put the 2" trailer hitch on it at the same time.
The bad: There is some rust starting on the tub, and could use some touch-up on the paint. Tires will need replaced(i have a set of 5 smaller rims and good tires that i could swap out)! The rearview mirror needs glued back on. It has some small chips on the windshield, but they are small enough to pass pa inspection. The drivers seat needs a seat cover.

Watch this 650-hp Hennessey Jeep Grand Cherokee go from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds
Tue, 14 May 2013Hennessey Performance Engineering has created an HPE650 package for the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT fitted with the 6.4-liter Hemi engine. When it leaves the showroom floor it has 470 horsepower and gets from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. When it leaves Hennessey's garage floor after the upgrade it has 650 horsepower - 530 hp at the wheels, according to Hennessey - and gets to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to running the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds.
There's more than just a Roots-type supercharger bolt-on, with ported cylinder heads and high-flow headers among the many changes made to the engine. You can watch this pre-2014 facelift silver model prove its spec sheet on the drag strip in the video below.
Jeep team takes a field trip to Wagonmaster; researching next Grand Wagoneer?
Fri, 01 Feb 2013
They have the very best intentions of rolling out a seven-passenger vehicle.
Wagonmaster has made a name for itself restoring and selling factory-perfect Jeep Grand Wagoneer models, bridging the gap between when the last production machine rolled off the line in 1991 and present day. The company's efforts haven't gone unnoticed. The entire Jeep product planning team took a little field trip to the company's facility in Kerrville, Texas back in December, and they weren't just there to take in the sights. According to owner Leon Miller's son, Chip Miller, the Jeep team was there to do research for the successor to the Grand Wagoneer throne.
Federal investigations about safety of rear-mounted gas tanks is nothing new
Sun, 09 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Chrysler are currently making waves in our daily news feeds due to a disagreement over the safety of a few million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models. Specifically, NHTSA has asked Chrysler to recall the SUVs because of the location of their fuel tanks, but you may be interested to know that requests such as this are nothing new.
Besides the two Jeep models, NHTSA has launched investigations over the years in such models as the Ford Crown Victoria (and its police-car counterpart), GM pickups built between 1972 and 1987, and rather famously the Ford Pinto.
Understanding how automakers and NHTSA have dealt with fuel-tank-safety concerns in the past may offer a better understanding of how Chrysler and the government agency will settle their current dispute. Check out the complete article from The Detroit News here.
